there was this video store shoppe by my buddies house and it used comic sans, just red comic sans. it was the most obnoxious thing in the f'ing world. the store was i think 'videovision' or some equally retarded name, and everytime we drove passed i'd reach out the window and flip off the sign.my friends were laughing at me. 'rick, wtf was that about' ... then i showed them the website. i have a really nasty habit of disecting things visually to see which typefaces designers chose around me for commercial purposes -- signs and logos more than anything.. i'm pretty bad at it i sometimes shout out 'i spy myriad pro! i spy eurostile lt bold!' etc, which is admittedly totally nerdy but it's fun and it trains my eyes for my profession where i have to recreate a raster 96dpi 1" blurry scan of a business card in vector. so it's practical i guess.
anyway, i haven't bought any shirts or hats yet but i want one now that says:
sawstudio: it's not for kiddies.
on the front i want a picture of old men maybe some shriners in those little cars, and on the back a kid smiling drooling flipping the bird.

watching the video for sawstudio, there is nothing it does that sonar, cubase, tracktion, etc, does not do. just a FYI for the shriners.

I use Cubase and VSTi's myself, so that's ok, but it seems like the people here complaining about Saw Studio are people using Cubase, and think that to the qualities that makes Cubase good should be applied to every other host out there. I'm just saying that Saw Studio and Cubase etc are aimed at different tasks, and that Cubase is good at some things and Saw Studio on other things. What I like about Saw Studio is that it's very well written, fast and efficient.

It's more than possible that I missed something, but I don't recall anyone putting down other programs. I, myself, am a registered user of Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, and Live. And, when I used the Mac for music, a long-time user of DP and Logic, the midi-only Performer, and Master Tracks Pro. Gosh, I even think there were some real pianos and guitars in there.
If people want to make statements like SAWStudio is ugly, old, or that the less expensive apps can do just as much as SAWStudio, show some guts and debate the point with the developer and with those who have used SAWStudio and its predecessors for years as the cornerstones of their commercial studios:

But don't take potshots in the dark. If you had routinely used the ultra-efficient audio engine or the crystal-clear, hand-coded EQ and dynamics built-in to each channel--OR even actually used The Levelizer, you would at least be qualified to discuss the program and its components--not laugh at them.
If any of you are members of the Samp or Sequoia forums, ask there what people think of The Levelizer (or do a search).
