Question regarding FL Studio 6 with an Axiom-25...

Hey folks, I'd like to start by saying hi to everyone here and I think this is a great community. This is my first post of many to come...
Here's my setup: FL Studio 6 XXL with Reason 3 ReWired, z3ta+, Absynth 3, Art Vista Grand Piano, looking to get Reaktor. Axiom-25 controller.
I know that may sound a little twinked being at the level that I am, but I decided early on that this is something I will truly stick with and with a little advice from a friend, I invested in some software that he deemed notable, and it all sounds great to me!
I just bought the Axiom yesterday (my first controller), and I'm having trouble integrating it with FL and the Enigma software M-Audio provides upon registering the controller is no real help to me at this point, mainly because I don't know how to work a thing in the program (even though I think it may be my key to success).
I am aware in FL that I can map my controller to MOST knobs / buttons in the program, but all of my start/stop/record/reverse/forwards/drum pads do not work in programming inside FL with no third party programs. I would also like to know if there is a way to map specific instruments to the pads (different channels for different pads) and if there is a way to link multiple items to a single function on the keyboard (such as mapping 2 channel's modulations to the 1 control on the Axiom).
At this point, the fathest I have gotten is that I need to know the CC numbers for everything in FL Studio and only certain things can be programmed with the Axiom inside of FL with no external programs. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but I've been on an endless search for a solution and am yet to find one, so there it is.
I appreciate the help in advance!

okay, first things first...I haven't tried with FL6, but I know previously that transport controls do not work with controllers.
Now as for setting up the controller.
1. make sure that in midi options window you have assigned your axiom as the remote control device (bear with me some, I do not have axiom...but I have a pcr50)
2. under options make sure you have "enable remote control" checked
Now it should be able to receive the signal from the axiom.
From here you'll need to right click the pad, knob, switch, fader...ect and select link to controller.
If link to controller is greyed out you may have to make a dashboard or a midiout preset. Before you do read up on both so you understand what each does, then go to FL's homepage...there is a dashboard forum that might have a dashboard for your needs already. If not it might be easier to follow one of the tutorials at FL on how to make a dashboard...it's fairly straight forward, but it takes a little time to grasp it...if you have troubles post more questions here, though at looptalk (FL) you might get quicker results...
finally...welcome to kvr

transport goes back to tape days and is play, record, rewind ect...dashboard is a feature of FL, it is used by adding like a soft synth in the channels>add one menu...

FL manual wrote:Dashboard allows you to create software interfaces to your external MIDI hardware, such as keyboards, mixers, samplers, etc. Further, you can use the integrated automation system to record the changes as your song progresses, or set up interfaces that act as internal controllers to bring together the range of commonly tweaked knobs in one place. Dashboard includes several pre-made panels (presets) for popular MIDI devices you can use directly in your projects. You can customize the existing panels for your own use or create new ones from scratch. This way, you can adapt Dashboard for any MIDI device you own without using plugins dedicated to a specific hardware.

Hey Trouty,
Did this get sorted out? I have Axiom 25 with FL6 too, I have only used it for basic keys. I will investigate deeper programing and let you know what I come up with.
It may be a few days.

Riley, do you know how to make a dashboard? If you have the midi implementation chart you could make one up and post it here http://forum.e-officedirect.com/forum.e ... _Dashboard
I looked but didn't see one...and it reminded me I should make one for B4II...

Just used it for this tune http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=795313&t=140
Now listen to the whole thang, it has a twist to it.
The nasty distorted organ in the background is daOrgan and the rest is B4II.
I must admit. I have never used dashboard.
But I'll look into it.
I'll be off the forum most of the day.

Hey, I got a little more into it and I still am having trouble with this really reaching it's full capability. I make the interface for the dashboard, and can't seem to make it past that. Tell me what ya find. Fathest I have gotten is just the right click and setting a control to something on the keyboard, but very limited.

When you hit the drum pads or the transport buttons, do you see FL's MIDI light (top left) become yellow?
As for linking different pads to different instruments, you might be able to assign each pad to a different MIDI channel, and set each instrument to a different channel. If you want to link one knob to multiple controls, just uncheck "Remove conflicts" in the Link to controller... dialog.

We've got a lot of Axiom/Reason users at our Enigma forum. .but we could use more Axiom/FL users. . .care to join us?

Hey Cool! I'm there. I got an Axiom 49 because my Radium 61's velocity response is horrible. I have been able to get some of the transport buttons to work but not reliably. Drum pads,no problem they work perfectly as do the slider/knobs in FL Studio 6.08controlphr33k wrote:We've got a lot of Axiom/Reason users at our Enigma forum. .but we could use more Axiom/FL users. . .care to join us?
