Hello,
I was considering atmosphere for it's strings and belltones,
but I wonder what alternatives do I have for strings and belltones?
But vapor seems very compelling, espcially since it is almost 1/4 the price of atmosphere.
(I already have albino for 'evolving soundscapes')
has anyone used vapor?
I've also considered using Q-up arts 'Dream experience' sample CD
OR XX large pads.
What really is my best option for pad-strings and belltones?
thanks!

I'll give a thumbs-up for Vapor. If you have Kontakt, then you can also open this library in it for further control.

I have both. Vapor is nice, and the ability to use it's samples as Kontakt2 fodder is fabulous. In fact, I rarely use the Vapor (Kompakt-based) instrument itself. I often grab an NKI from the Vapor folder to use as a layer behind a piano sample in Kontakt2 though.
That said, Vapor really isn't in the same class as Atmosphere in terms of variety and overall quality of the sounds. Many many vapor patches sound almost the same. Atmosphere is well worth the money (if you have it

I heard the cathedral strings demo for atmosphere, the strings alone makes it worth the $$
