DrApostropheX & groovesys... :dog: I might as well not even think of entering this month (again). You people are too much competition.

Yeah but is it really all about the winning and the prizes & the glorious fame?

ok it is a bit, but its also about trying something new, improving technique and chicks.

I must admit, this month's contest really helped me improve my chops.

Come on Emdot, there's never too much competition. Write something, anything. We'd all love to hear it. As Birrbits said, it's about chicks! :D

It really isn't the competition, I'm just having a really hard time coming up with an idea. I've been out of the contests a good while doing other things (like sound design and generally avoiding composing) . . . I need the spark of an idea to get me going. :help:

Nice little tune. Love the M-Tron part, but you're right to let this one go for the competition, it's not quite there.

Things are shaping up nicely.
Mind you though.....I'm no Joe Satriani.

Hey funxi,
why not taking it as first draft and going on from it...like:
Sing the main (irish) melody (no synth) and acompany it with a hard-arppegiatedtrance beat?
The beat should come in not so early. First the irish theme has to established and when it is, WOOM, Bastard Irish Trance :hihi:
Seriously, I could imagine that when I heard your tune. :)
Symphony Nr.1
Meet the Cities Repair Team Unimportant laughter
music has become meaningless...we just keep doing it

One thing you can try: go to your mp3 collection and sort it by styles. Try taking two random styles and combining the names. Or go to your CD collection and pick out two CDs at random and do a combination of those styles. This is definitely one of the funner themes (yes, I said funner). Too bad you can only enter once per month (though I think in my offline musical pursuits, I may stick with this genre-combining idea for a while... at least until I get my "Acid Tonk" composition done).

Thanks for your kind words. I do admit: I do it not for the prizes, but for the chicks (and for the sad fact that if it weren't for these contests, I probably would hardly make any music at all these days).
GLHF! (Gandalf Lives, Hobbits Forever!)
