Anyway... so far I've only had the two crashes mentioned earlier (the 2nd one was using the sampler/slicer), but apparently both were caused by either 1st time configuration (as BONES suggested earlier), or by the dynamics of my pc... After that I've been able to use OP7 a couple of times without crashing or other errors, which is a good thing...

btw. I found that also the VST detection was more stable than earlier releases :).

wahooo

I just got orion 7 to crash trying to record patterns from the sampler into the playlist.

Post

hooray
I can reproduce the crash over and over

however,if I mute the track that I've armed in the playlist
I can record the patterns...but whats the point if you cant f**king hear them.

trying to record patterns without the mute button activated gives me a lovely buzzing sound followed by a crash every time

with orions sampler

please to point out what I could be doing wrong to make orion crash when trying to record patterns into the playlist

Orion users are very kind to each other  , except when they're not. :D

But Richard and Mark are always kind to us. :tu:

Furthermore BONES is always right, even then if he's not. :scared:

lol. well... It was annoying that out of the first 3 times I used OP7, 2 times it crashed. That's why I posted earlier. However, after that it didn't crash anymore, so it seemed fair to post that as well :D. So far I've used OP7 more than OP6 (which was my first).

Post

problem submitted to orion forum

eagerly await orion 7.1

You know it seems like every new version of OP crashed the first time I opened it... but not afterwards?? Hmmm... But this V7 didn't! I think, were getting somewhere... :hihi: It's still my favorite PC DAW!

(I just wish the windows would remember size and position)... that's all!

Just to say it worked for me first time and I've never had a crash in OP (been using it since V5). Its my most stable host actually and runs buggy plugins like Hartman Neuron VS that play up in many other hosts (i.e. won't load at all in eXT or Chainer or wrapped in Project 5, hardly ever loads first time in Minihost and often locks up, crashes Tracktion maybe 15% of the time - only loads consistently in OP and Console). I just wish it was a bit less pattern based (get rid of the annoying having to set pattern length every time - which I always forget to do - and I'd use it more).

It looks like the creator of Orion uses a jackass as his spokesperson.
Last time i checked, i didn't fork out almost $300 bucks for list of bugs.
The upgrade charge is not the issue, i just want a stable old version that i could one day pass over to my son.

Hey…
It's because of the un-mannered behavior of that bone-head is why I haven't bought any of their plugs.….
I use Moog Modular V i don't need toxic!, I don't even use scream at all.

It's the same thing with Fxpansion, they find bugs, but they fix it openly, they don't do a massive upgrade to cure the many issues... in fact because of the many fixes they also have been going through, is the reason why i haven't purchased any more of their products... another $300 bucks of issues.

Look I understand Rich needs to make money for his time, but obviously he knew of these bugs before-hand; I mean it surely didn't all happen when he was working on V7!
And perhaps he could team up with a big company.

Just messed around with V7 awhile... It's one of the few DAW type programs you can easily make a song without a midi keyboard. One of the things I always liked about it. Because the pattern/instrument loops... it's so easy to create a simple beat in a drum sampler, run it, then start building up complex, layered multi-instrument patterns... I really like the new toolbar at top, that you can call up the mixer, master etc. Pretty slick! Great instruments, 2 Toxic's?? Oh Yea! It's so fast for creating rythmic melody lines synced to a drum grid... Sweeet! I almost forgot how much fun it was!
