So we agree, then. Claiming that you'd proved it sounded like something else was dumb. Good. Glad that's over.hifiboom wrote:it seems you are too much programmer than musician? heh?

I just can't see why people start flames in the first place? Why someone always think it's smarter then others (including everyone here even me). This is where "it's in human nature" jump in. But! There is always but... If you dont like somethig just pass it away. Dont let anything piss you. Simple as that! If you like what is crowd raving about.... well...join the club and be whatever you believe. Ummm...
Thanks mom. Look i am smart.....

bah...in Noisevault some users say that hi quality irs collections like Altiverb's or Waves Irs are lifeless as the free irs you can find around.Sammas wrote:Sounds ok, but so far you have only proven that it sounds better than a bunch of average impulses that are circulating the internet. yes please, evaporate yerself. how can I help?hifiboom wrote:I think I ll stop that very soon, as KVR is a total flame forum with many dumb people ...
quoting your "I'm not a behringer engineer" or "never tried Lexicons" and your "my verb know-how is better than yours" attitude?
I can't see how your IMMENSE knowledge can help us with just few dumb examples.
again, your Quantec appreciation is totally subjective and so useless.
again, you're making a fool of yourself, you ruined your own thread and your non-existent reputation by overdefecating (building crap over something already well established and accepted).
that is flaming, choirboy.

Comparing it to demos of other units found on websites seems pretty inconclusive. The demo's of the V-Verb on the Behringer website sound substancially worse than those that you have posted... Actually pretty much every demo I've ever heard on the internet doesn't do a reverb unit complete justice.
Interesting thread, but very inconclusive at best.
I have proven that it can sound as good as a Quantec Yardstick which is one of the best reverbs ever build....
Thats not a stupid impulse response....
You have just proven that you are not able to read a thread successfully....
Try again
I think I ll stop that very soon, as KVR is a total flame forum with many dumb people ...![]()
So I do not have to prove anything nor do you have to buy anything...
So what is the problem with this thread...?
I really don't know....
Right, I didn't read the thread properly. Lets have another look at your Yardstick "comparison" comments; "really I am not too afraid about it, as I have just downloaded three demo samples from Quantec homepage"
Now re-read what I said again, I think you'll find there is only one person here who has proven that they can't read a thread properly, and that person is not me
If you still don't get it, don't be affraid to ask.
What is wrong with this thread? Saying that your reverb unit is better than other units that you have never heard or directly compared them too.

Right, and my studio partner hates the sound of SSL 4000 consoles. To each his own. I used my own ears and came to my own conclusion.
Out of all the IRS reverbs I've tried and compared the best were Altiverb's impulses ran through voxengo's pristine space. Wasn't a fan of Wave's but I think its got something to do with the IR-1 plugin. Even running other IRS's like stuff from Altiverb and Voxengo through the IR-1 made them sound considerably duller than when used in Pristine Space.
I don't use them much anymore... I got a KSP-8 instead. They still come in handy though.

Oh that is not right I have heard some of the better class reverb units.... PCM81 , PCM90 ....Sammas wrote: is better than other units that you have never heard or directly compared them too.
but I do not own...and this won't change
what would be a difference if I would own the Quantec Yardstick, I would just be able to run the dry sound through the unit on my own.......
and now tell me where the difference is between downloading the processed sound or do the processing on my own.
do you believe digital transfer (downloading a sound file) will make the file sound more worse?
Fuzzy logic...
Tell me what a serious comparing would look like if you would do it...
And not only critizise what I did.
I am the one how did all the work, uploading it and make it possible for others to listen to some audio examples.
And I know that there are kvr users out there which are thankful for this.
Why don't you go on and put in some PCM91 or Lexicon processed sounds.
Get a little more constructive instead of destructive...
Do you think I will be sad if the V-Verb does not deliver the same quality as the higher end units?
Come we don't have to loose anything.

Only thing you have more knowlegde about than me, is going all wet and wild over some cheapass hardware...*sigh*hifiboom wrote:exactly what I want to say...WoJ wrote:Sure, how much something cost's is obviously going to reflect how its going to sound.
WoJ
When the LEx units first came out, the processing power was extremly expensive and so the price was a fact due to high producing costs....
Today manufacturers can easily buy DSP s with extremly power for low cost.
But Lexicon(and the other big reverb players) still sell for super-high prices, because they think they have the special algo!
So who sucks more in 2006?
The bigger players like Lexicon or Behringer
@snooky: I don't need your precocious comments, because I think I have much more knowledge about reverbs than you do have....
go away if you gonna be like that.
I got quite a bit more experience than you in the producing department.

Now, why don't you folks just calm down a bit?
Essentially, this thread should've been quite informative for some people, regarding the "you can get a HQ reverb that cheap" factor (I haven't even been aware of the Behringer reverb, so that suits me), can't see the slightest reason for flaming people or going into "this reverb is teh shizz0r OMGWTFLOL!!!11!" mode.
You should just do it like me: I'm going to have a swim right now!

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I'm a student, and a good one at that (yephifiboom wrote:hey snooky if I look at your post count, I wonder if you have the time for a real job...
producing music for the last 9 years, releasing singles and whitelables going around the world, getting major airtime on big radiostations both online and regular FM stations, producing collaborations projects for film, mastering for rockbands (and we all know how fussy they are about their sound
Stop being so damn defensive about your reverb (it's not like it cost you an arm and a leg, I would understand it then) ...chill bro, and let it be...I already said your examples sounded good/interesting!
