Actually I'm using EZ_G.exe and also the hta for the triggers the same time. I can try to close the hta to test the app alone... I let you know.
Thanks for the vst description - I'm using Forte Ensemble and I'm afraid I cannot use the vst there. As I remember there was no routing of outgoing midi from a vst. There are only midi inputs - coming from outside (midiox) ...

Maybe the hanging notes are vsti dependend or something in Forte ??

Forte doesn't support VST/i-MIDI, so you will have to use the EZ_G.exe.
1.01 has now a setting for hanging frets (sticky frets) and hanging notes (note off delay), so it can only get worst ;)
Where you using the same output port when using both the hta and the exe ?

Hi, Birger, I just found the bug, currently don't use velocity offset and open string velocity offset, or at least avoid overflows.
I do handle the overflow, but the wrong way :(
Will be fixed in 1.02

Hi Marc,
great - beat the bugs ...
No - I 'm using in the EZ_G.exe the Midiox_1 and for the triggers in the hta port midiox_2 or so ...
I will try also your version 1.01, but I love to hear about your next 1.02 version ... Maybe 1.03 with trigger support ???

Birger

Marc,
I don't get access to the yahoo group ... is it possible to have a link to the 1.01 files like with the 1.00 version ?

Thanks,
Birger

Anyone using a Yamaha EZ-TP digital trumpet? I saw one guy mentioning it in this thread.

I've seen them on Ebay.

How do you play a trumpet? I google searched, there's 3 keys, so there's a few variations there. I think you blow into a trumpet by pitch, and it plays certain pitches in open fingerings, then the keys modify the pitch a little?

A vid of an ez-tp would be cool.

There's one on ebay japan for $300 plus $45 ship.

The vibration of your lips, depending on tension, will excite the bell at a frequency that ascends the harmonic series based on the instrument's fundamental pitch.

(Sounds kind of kinky! :hihi:)

Then the combination of valves will play the remaining steps of semitones between the intervals of the harmonic series, each (additively) representing a number of steps downward from the base pitch.

The EZ-TP, however, does not require 'buzzing' the lips on the mouthpiece. Instead, the mouthpiece is really a microphone that detects the pitch of your humming. As a cornet player, I'm not sure if this would be an advantage or a hinderance for me! So as of yet I have not been brave enough to buy one without a policy of being able to return and refund the purchase...

Sounds interesting, I would prefer the vocal pitch deal, as I only play the guitar.

Can someone help out with a quick "what you need to run to get the best results using Cubase SX3" pointer please

ie; Do I need midi yolk, MIDI-OX etc, - Cubase doesn't have a problem recognising the EZ-AG through the midiport I have it plugged into (midisport 2x2) but do you need to route it differently in order to customise the settings to make the instrument more 'playable' (just setting a minimum note on would be a nice start to stop it sounding notes when you just form a chord shape, for instance).

I've been trying to navigate about this topic, but it's a bit like one of those threads that everyone's going 'Ah - yes!' to - but I keep missing the first bit..

Thanks a bunch!!

If you are on winxp, you have a few choices:

http://www.tencrazy.com/gadgets/ free/donation
http://homepage.hispeed.ch/mbncp/download/MIDIX.zip free, not supported anymore
Both are standalone apps and require a virtual MIDI cable (yoke, mapple, loopbe,..)

Or you can try this (will be about 20U$):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ezg_suite/, download the demo from the file section.
Either standalone or VSTi-MIDI. With SX, you can directly use the VSTi version.

Excellent - thanks for the quick response! I've got the demo VSTi installed, but I'm not sure where it fits in the chain.

For instance, I set my midi in port to the physical port that the EZ-AG is connected to, and I presume I ought to then route it to the EZ-VSTi, and from the EZ-VSTi on to the VST instrument that I want to control. But nothing is showing in the drop down box (no. 6 in the diagram above)?

That's just the preset list (I'm currently working on it), but will not make it on the demo.

To make it work in SX, got to SX preference, MIDI, MIDI Filter and make sure SysEx Record and Thru are unchecked.

Then,
Track1, record enabled : EZ-AG midi port -> EZgVSTiM
Track2, monitor enabled : EZgVSTiM -> VSTI Synth or external Synth

And in the EZ plug, make sure Use SysEx (4) is checked.

Perfect!

When can I give you my $20?

Thanks :-)

*edit* Oh - just one last thing - whilst hammering on works a treat, picked strings aren't sounding very loud at all. er... ?

Thanks - and I'll leave you in peace now - cheers Marc!

Enjoy ;D
