Peeps who use FL along with a traditional sequencer?

How do you work with the two. How does your workflow differ if you are just making beats or if you are making beats with vocals. Any thoughts appreciated.

i'm just not getting this ...
do you consider FLS a non-traditional sequencer , perhaps ?...

Do you program the drums and samples in FL and then on the track in Tracktion it is just the empty looking track or do you program the sounds from FL with Tracktion. Thanks.

I just started using my Live-Lite the M-Audio version of Live 5 to go with my FLS 6. So far I have been rewiring the 2. I made my beats in FLS6 and play them in live mode in FLS6 while I am triggering vocals and effects on Live-lite 5 with my trigger finger and Alesis Photon X25. I am thinkg of just making 4 bar beats in FLS then upgrading live and just playing everything in live. I think FLS6 is way easier to make beats than to try and make them in Live 5. Unless someone else knows a faster way.
M-Audio Ozonic, FLStudio 7, EnergyXT2, Live 6 and KORE 1 and 2,Cubase LE, M-powered Protools and Gigastudio3 but I never use Them.

Well, I have the $50 version of FL, so I do all my midi recording in Tracktion.
I set FL inside a rack, and rout the nesisary outputs from Fl's mixer into Tracktion's track lanes.

I use FL as a VST in Sonar. I use FL ONLY for drums, because I like the pattern-based programming for drums.
I do everything other than drums directly in Sonar.
When I use sample-drum-loops for drums (which is sometimes), I don't load FL for that at all.

I use fls6 in live5. i basically program everything in fls6 because it is the bomb as a synth rack as well as drums. then i use live5 as a place to composite everything and as a sort of virtual mixer. i find it super easy to go from sketch to finished song with this combination.

I program drums with FL and then export .wav's into REAPER. If REAPER ever gets a piano roll as good as FL, I'm dropping FL like a hot rock.

I cant use FL as a VSTi... FL does not VISUALLY (timeline) sync to the host play position.. It plays back in time.. but the timeline cursor on FL goes all goofy... I think rewire also gives some issue... cant remember what... But it hardly gets any use from me anymore.. pity....

Indeed there are some issues with FL when it comes to Rewire or as VST/DX in an another different sequencer.
But as i'm more rewire-fan due flexibilty, ...the wellknown Rewire-problem in FL hurt's the most. As i mentioned in an another thread aswell...FL is a pattern sequencer. The most others not. So when u rewire FL with any other traditionels u will missing the play/stop reaction on the Rewire-slave.
Of course there is synchronization there...i didn't meant that FL goes unsync in Rewire...it doesn't...but for example...i mostly rewire FL together with Reason. And sometimes it's more useful when u play/stop on the Rewire-slave instead in the Rewire-master.
Very useful especialy when u already have recorded something in Reason (slave) & u want to stop it. U will figure u can't, u have to stop the track by switching to FL (master).
If u work with just 1 monitor...the Rewire-sesson "in this condition" becomes to a horrible expierence. Not to mention the lack of overview. With 2 monitors the flow get's better but in that chase (FL & Reason / Rewire) the work rhythm becomes circuitous. Not so with Reason/P5 or Reason/Live for example.
Also i hate that i can't change the Positionmarker in Reason. I always must do that in FL before. Horrible when u want to copy/paste notes in Reasons Sequencer. So that are things which can be very annoying but well...depending on the songproject...sometimes FL is the better choice & sometimes P5. I hope that the Imageliners will be able to solve it but i fear that won't happen ever. Therefore FL's sequence-principle would have to replaced with the traditional ones. I don't know the opinions from the FL-users which use it intensiv for everything but think the most would leave FL if they would change their sequencer.
