But I like my V-Verb and it works for me... I could care less what's 'the best'

I know. Still, the truth can be presented in some ways.snooky wrote: I don't care for good manners, just the truth.
Especially in case you're dealing with online folks. You never know who's sitting behind those ASCII lines.
And it's certainly quite funny seeing you argueing about attitude and whatever.
I know you're quite a knowledgeable dude, and I also know that probably a lot of people could potentially learn from your skills. But unfortunately your attitude is just that of an asshole.
I don't like the "let's go into mega-hype mode" attitude of hifiboom too much either, but at least he's somewhat on a "good" mission, whereas you're just doing the dickhead thing.
And no, all that has got nothing to do with facts or evidence. You may even be right. Doesn't make you look anything less like an asshole though.
Sure, most likely you'll flame me now. Or mute me. Whatever, just do. I'm not even saying I'm feeling sorry for you. I've been similar like you for a long time (and it still shows sometimes), but I tried to learn from it. Something you don't seem to do (I mean, it's not the first time you've been accused of such things).
I won't even tell you to f**k off (even if, only judging by your uncalled for comments, you may actually deserve it), I'm also not muting you and I'm not even continuing to argue about the matter any longer, all I'm doing is to ask for a minimum amount of respect, especially towards people you don't know and who never started the slightest personal argument with you either. Ignore it or don't. Tell me I'm an idiot or don't. I won't be able to do anything against anything.
And that's about it.
Good night.

You say people can't read, and that people are interpreting things on their own, then you say things like this!hifiboom wrote:
So I just claim that the Behringer deliver top-notch-reverb that is on par with the other units.
Just round in circles... weeeeeeee around and around and around...
weeeeeeee!!!!!! weeeeeeee!!!!! WHAT OTHER UNITS?! YOU HAVEN'T COMPARED IT TO ANY OTHER UNIT!
It just doesn't seem to click does it... you've started skipping over posts that you don't want to read, yet they raise some very valid points... but no, its us thats not showing you any "respect"... meanwhile you are misleading people with comparison's that don't exist. Some people tried to politely point it out... but you just rabbited on, getting more and more far fetched. Perhaps someone needs to
hifiboom wrote: And first plz prove that the Lexicon, Tc, etc. sound realistic...
And plz not proving it by just using recordings from real world reverb....
I thought you said you've heard a lexicon reverb box? In your infinite wisdom you did not know that Lexicon reverbs are held in such high regard because of there world class synthetic reverbs? You seem to be grabbing at straws at this point... your bottom line opinion is pointless because it claims things that you've already mentioned you haven't got a clue about.
Cirles... weeeeeeee!!! around and around and around! weeeeeee!
It is pretty pathetic at this point. Most other people would have probably pulled it together and said "yes, you are right... I went a little overboard in all the excitment. I really like this behringer unit!". but no... you just kept on digging, then accuse people of not respecting you.
You must think we are stupid? If you want your opinion to be respected, get a real f***ing opinion!!!!! This thread is the biggest load of BS. Go back to your soundblaster live setup... It is no wonder you think it sounds great. No matter what you use it probably sounds like shit playing through it!

Well there we go. A soul with humility and perspective. No outrageous claims with misguided "comparisons". No merry-go-arounds. Just an opinion...

Well Sascha, I stand by my opinions, and I absolutely detest overhyping and overpricing and things like that, I know you know...so don't be surprised when a guy comes along and does it all like hifiboom! I started out easily, telling him it's not a valid comparison he did, and then I got all sorts of crazy comments that he could do it, and it was his topic and he could do it as he wishes etc etc etc...I'm just a bit baffled to as why I'm the only one to even react to this farse for a thread...
anyways, no mutes or shit, I'll leave it up to others to decide what to do with this topic.

snooky, I DO understand WHY you reacted like that - but the WAY you reacted, by starting some personal insults is looking rather questionable to me. It certainly doesn't make the things you're saying look any more credible, more to the opposite. And all that even in case you might be spot on, regarding factual things. Rather counterproductive, if you ask me...

well, we're all tempramental at times - and I really didn't care what others besides hifi thought - sometimes harsh words get thru better than reason and logic...uhm, yeah.

@Sammas : you can keep on going whatever you like to do... ( "He has said, that I said , that he is thinking bla bablbalablalbalablabalablabala" )
whatever ...
I'm going back to the main topic of this thread the V-Verb
coming with more sound demos:
emualting St. Peter dome
http://home.arcor.de/bdk2003/vverb/emul ... edrale.mp3
http://home.arcor.de/bdk2003/vverb/emul ... edrale.mp3
its quite hard to get them exactly sound the same, sometimes it sounds bigger than the orig. mp3 and sometimes too small
both are made with different algos...first is the cathedral algo second one the VVerb..
original Yardstick:
Vocal: http://mp3.quantec.de/audio/Sprachbeisp ... r_112s.mp3
Sax: http://mp3.quantec.de/audio/Instruments ... l_112s.mp3
whatever ...

So the behringer sounds like its a god gift for the price, but is it really better than all free VST reverbs we can get out there (convolution reverb excepted, 'cuz they are different in essence)?

I wouldn't have gone out and bought this unit if I would have been so happy with the vst reverbs...
From my point of view there is only one VST reverb that is able to deliver that class of professional clean + dense soundquality and that is the CSR-1 vom IK Multimedia ...
All soundsamples I've heard were quite good. I think it models the lexicon units and from the number of parameters its very flexible too.
But I did not love their dongle policy even with demo, they could have just brought out a parameter fixed demo plug-in, so at least I got the VVerb cheaper than the CSR-1 and it has its own DSP and doesn't hit my CPU....
so it's a good deal.
CSR-1 costs around 300€ in germany and the VVerb is only the half (135€)
Absolutly Best Deal for me since a long time....
But make sure you do know how to tweak reverb-units....
The factory presets are very good, but more brightly tuned, which make them good for musical things. Others may roll down the damping a little bit for getting more "room feeling"

I'd love to know how the CSR stacks up against this...hifiboom's examples sound pretty effing good. Behri or not. imho
