Hello all my KVR friends! Many of you may have noticed some talk about a site called Sample Torrents. Well, good news. Sample Torrents is officially launching!

http://www.sampletorrents.com

Sample Torrents is a place for you to find and download free samples, music, software, and more. It is also a place where you can share your own content. And best of all, it's a LEGAL way to share and download.

Wanna get more exposure for your tracks, all while saving website bandwidth? Go ahead and post them there!

Wanna share that groovy sample library you created? Go ahead and share it there!

Are you a developer who wants to get their demo or free software out there? Sample Torrents is the place to do it!

Or if you just want to find some free stuff to download, this is the place to do it! Over the next couple weeks, more and more content will be appearing on Sample Torrents, including some exclusive content.

In the near future, we will also be holding contests and much more.

Sample Torrents is a site that can help save bandwidth, therefore making it more affordable to share, and hopefully make more people want to share!

So if you are a member, or haven't joined yet, go ahead! It's free, and it will only get bigger! For those who don't know how to use torrents, just read the guides and FAQ on the site. Or feel free to ask questions in the forums.

If you have any further ideas for the site, please feel free to post them. This site is for you. We want to make this site THE site for sharing free content.

****One thing that must be said. Please do not upload or ask to upload anything illegal. You must either be the owner of the content or have permission to share, through license or personal permission. Illegal content will NOT be tolerated.****

So get to it! Feel free to register and look around. This is your site, and we will do whatever is possible to make it better every day.

Thanks for the time!

Here is some basic information to get you started. A more in depth Getting Started guide will come soon.

"Hold on a second, what's this mumbo-jumbo "torrent" word you keep using?"
Well sir, it is a method of "getting a file off of the net'" quite simply, and it is proved to be THE most effective way of transfering large data files.

"Oh ok, and how the heck would I download a "torrent"?"
Well, you'll need a torrent client, there's many out there so you're sure to find one you like, here are just a few.

That list is somewhat outdated, so I've briefly built up a list of clients inwhich you'll probably end up using.

- Azureus - you'll need to update your java.
- µTorrent

"OK, I've got my client installed now, what next?"

Well you can head on over to Sample Torrents.com
and click on the "create account" link, if you haven't registered already.

Once you're logged in and wish to access the torrents, click the "Torrents" link on the side of the screen. You'll notice they are nicely categorised but there's only a few torrents so far, so please help us add more!

If you'd like to add to the torrent collection but you don't know how, go on over to this link

Thanks for the kind words!

And I think people need to realize that more content will come, as more members join and the word gets out. I have some stuff I'll be sharing later tonight because I'm currently at work.

But more will come, and this place can truly become great. Just make sure to spread the word!

Cheers ya'll, and let me know if you have any questions!

It appears that refreshing the page creates duplicate posts in the shoutbox. That's alright though, as it may or may not stay, depending on need. Right now, it's just there.

Also, if you've already uploaded something, please try to seed again, so people can download. This will help people to have something to grab until more stuff goes up.

Welcome!

I sent out a second message to all members. I just wanted to say that if you've added content or downloaded something, please try to seed. This will help get the momentum going on the site.

I personally will be adding some stuff over the next day or so, some of which hasn't been shared on KVR before.

Anyone else want to volunteer some stuff?

I just uploaded Matt Helgesson's Maestro Grand piano at the site. Hopefully that will lead some people in there!

If I can get some seeders for it after downloading, I'll upload more of Matt's stuff. Enjoy!

Ok, I'm going to sleep for the night. Can we reach 200 members by Thursday night? I hope so!

Anyone who has music tracks to share, that would be a great start for the site. I'll be back in the morning if anyone has any questions.

Also, xsub, Spratman, Glurgle, and Rune may be able to help you also, so you can ask them while I'm gone.

G'nite, and have fun ya'll!

Superb! The colour scheme reminds me of Amiga music trackers and MOD websites which is cool :D

NoBrain2k, Yeah I used an amiga in the passed too, specficially an a600, the moved onto the a1200!

Also, as for amiga trackers, the concept of them are still very alive today, such as renoise.

anyway, cheers for comments on the visual side.
