It just arrived in my sweaty little hands. After just about 20 min of auditioning in Cubase I can say..very, very, tasty.
Great work, Squids, et al.

hi, is this week's suprise still on?
or is it the ed greene mini profile?
and I assume the mini profile doesn't have all the loops as the full version?
by the way the reggae drumming isn't bad, but you need a new reggae bassist in the demo

Sale goes til midnight tonight I think and I'm pretty sure that the lower price during this sale was the surprise. I mean, I bought the rex edition for more than it's on sale now during another special...I get a free upgrade but I paid more...
Me, I'm saving up for Studiophonik and the full versions of Studio ProFiles...
In the end...it's all about getting the good stuff...and I have yet to be disappointed by Squids and crew...
I can't think of any other company that understands the user base better and tries to make more happy customers than SR. We have so much unlimited access to Squids, it's not even funny. i have yet to send him a pm or post here that he didn't respond. That's WAY unusual for any business.
Plus, he LOVES what he's doing. I've said it before and it bears repeating....Squids uses the stuff he's involved with and he makes stuff he needs...and in case you didn't notice, he's not too shabby on the keys.
I'd love to be able to finger-drum the way he does.
Personally, I like having a guy like him at the helm of a company making this kind of product. You can bet that it's going to be something good.
So go ahead, flame me for being a fanboi. I don't care...I'm too old to care...
Can't RMX users use the rex files?

naw I think the suprise was a new product:
"We also have a surprise announcement of some new products and the good news (for a change) is that the product announcement will BE the now shipping announcement! That never happens!!!! I think some of you will be happy about it too. I mean, if you use Stylus RMX, Reason, Cubase, Sonar, Logic, ProTools 7, FL Studio, DP or other compatible programs with what we have coming then I think you might be VERY happy! More news coming... VERY soon."
"A hint: let's just say that this is something that has been asked for (maybe even in this thread). Aha... hmmmmmm"
"Hint: I think RMX users in paricular will be extra happy. "

Oh you guys mean the new Sonic Reality RexPaks?
6 new libraries being released next week (besides RAW) that are designed to be RMX compatible as well as a great source of Rex2 files for Reason, Kontakt and any Rex2 compatible software? They are gonna be COOL! Official announcement is either gonna be tomorrow or Monday. A little Squids leak since I said I'd let you know soon.

Being a big RMX fan this is great news…………..though I've just bought RAW so will have to save up again
Are the RexPaks converted from your existing libraries or is it all new stuff
Will they be Downloadable
Thanks

my guess/my hope is that since they are five listed legendary drummers on http://www.studioprofiles.com/artists.php, it is those five plus six an unannounced drummer......

Squids what is the word on the Special Edition V2 or corrections or whatever it is called....

Special Edition Studio ProFile update will be free and should be ready toward the end of the month.
Well, okay, the announcement is about the series of Rex Paks in general and specifies six genre-based titles. Next after that we'll have 5 or 6 Artist Rex Paks too though (might as well let the cat out of the bag since some people are anxious about those). They are STEREO and a lot of the material is either custom made for the series (so completely new) or taken from upcoming multitrack Studio ProFile titles (so also new). There are some taken from Qup Arts titles (like the upcoming Latin Groove titles and Steve Gadd etc.) that were never offered as Rex files before. But, either way for the most part we're talking new and different material. RAW borrows a little bit from each of these as well as over 20 upcoming titles as well (partially a "best of" in a way... like if you enjoyed the "Dirty South" folder of 60 Rex files in RAW then you'll probably like the 500 Rex files of loops on the Dirty South Rex Pak).
Here are the first six titles. The official announcement will be on Monday.
Vintage Rock Grooves - this is a combination of British Rock and Classic Rock material. It has a lot of stereo mixdowns from the British Rock Studio ProFile coming up but it also has a bunch of material from another Rock drum session that isn't on anything else. This title is really amazing and if you like rock drums then it is an absolute must... especially if you like Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Stones etc.
Vintage Soul Grooves - this one has drum grooves and bass lines in the style of 60's and 70's Southern Soul, Atlantic, Stax, James Brown etc. Pretty cool!!!! All new stuff.
Sixties MTown Grooves - sort of the companion to Vintage Soul, this one concentrates on the 60's and early Seventies "Motown Sound" and includes not only drums but percussion as well as vinyl 45 grooves completely with crackle and pops. You also have hundreds of clean grooves as well. This is pretty rare and for this price it is a great one to have in your collection... I mean, ironically even if that's not the style of music you do the loops are so cool and groovy that you can twist them into other styles like Drum n Bass or Hip Hop... remember that a lot of pop styles have borrowed from the records from this era (illegally sampling them). This is a chance to have that sound and style but legally be able to use it in your music.
Nashville Pop Grooves - this is from the Nashville Drum sessions but a mix of Rock, Pop and other styles as well as Country (so not strictly Country). It's pretty darn useful for songwriting and it sounds real clear and punchy.
Hip Hop: Dirty South - this is nice if you do Hip Hop mainly because it is completely fresh new material that's very now. It's also easy construction kits with drums, pads, leads, bass and other instruments and effects.
Electronic: Drum n Bass - Also has some cool construction kits. This is a mix of completely new material from SR plus Qup Art's Drum n Bass title finally in rex format. Really good value considering that JUST Qup's title NOT rexed cost more! (and the value for these products over all is pretty incredble at $79 each) .
I think the best news is that these products are being announced AND will be shipping next week! We'll have new products coming out ever couple of weeks now and not only will it be available from www.esoundz.com but also from Sonic Reality dealers all over the world eventually.
Spread the word to RMX, Reason and Rex users. This is going to be really good fresh material that is flexible and inspiring. I've already written about 5 songs from these and RAW in the last month. It's a nice supplement to Sonic Reality playable instruments.
