Four more tracks:

gag3: waitress!....please, can i get some more of this salad.....the world in 2 minutes....Max couldn't have done it better! Very very good mix....did you play a single note? :hihi: wonderful!

Dumi: very homogenic, strong movement towards the end...good atmosphere....single complaint: the 2 minutes limit. quite good!

Patrick9: Three strong ideas, but not so well connected: Why?! Lack of time? Please, do another mix in the future! I like it.

Vurt: His Weirdness! Good underground human beatbox mangling ('though I used the same sample in one of my tracks some months ago....must be CM/FM). Only complaint: It's too long.

Well, I haven't entered for months (loads of them actually), but decided this theme was right up my street. I checked out the top tunes from last month, 6-7 of them. They all had vocals and most of them guitar. Was that a criteria last month (couldn't find any specific criterias) or is it generally like that? I mean, is it very unlikely for an instrumental tune to be say in top 5?

in the rules thread it said the track has to have a maximum of 2 mins. so i understood less was ok. do tracks have to be 2 mins *exactly*?

anyway, this piece is going to be an interlude in a soon to be (hopefully) ep of mine

Indeed, 2 minutes is a maximum, and the piece can be any length below that.

We've had contests in the past where the rules suggested getting the time as close to a target as possible, but that's not the usual way of things!

You got it in one Mello - Lack of time at least for the rest of the month. :(

Maybe I will work on this idea in the future though - Thanks.

Thanks dude. Very nice words.

Lucy! You've got some 'splainin' to do.

Okay, I have to say, I played just about every note and all the guitar (through guitar amp pro).

I did use the following apple loops:
Eastern Santoon
Rural Banjo
Club Dance Beat

Also the jewish arabic singing was from a professor (of history, i think).

I used logic and kontact 2 for all orchestral instruments (i wrote the parts :P ).

, oooh almost forgot Ultrbeat:-)

My downstairs neighbor Bill played the bass line for me. He reads music:-) Thanks Bill.

Thanks for all the nice comments S.HUSH, groovesys, mellotronaut, and others.

You guys rock!-)
