Does there exist in software an effect that can produce "intelligent" harmonies from a single recorded voice? A few years ago there was Decabuddy from Akai which was alright but not startling. Ditto one of those Yamaha plug ins. I don't own it but Melodyne allows you to pitch shift manually and keep the quality, but that is not really what I am after.
I think what I want is a software equivalent of TC-Helicon's Voice Works, which is quite expensive, but I believe is very very good. If anyone has experience of that piece of kit, or knows of an alternative, please let me know.

Advice for free: just actually record the extra harmonies on another track. Sounds better (no bloody pitch shifting with artefacts) or unintended out-of-tune harmonies.
