Grymm, I agree about the having everything in one place. Very nice!
As for the MIDI footboard, are there any decent ones that are cheap? I still have a bit of funds tightness as you know.
Is there anything out there that allows me to assign a MIDI control to a kay on the keyboard? Or to at least assign just one of them to my sustain pedal or something?
I'm just looking for ways to switch quickly, and I'm sure I'll figure something out. But what tools are out there for this?

you could do that using midiox perhaps.. in midiox you can map keys to output cc data and other stuff. it's a bit of a stretch to learn it but once you do it's painless. basically you would need to install midiyoke, and midiox. then you'd setup t2 or ext to use that midi input on the track for freeamp2, which would also be configured using a keyboard midi util like tracktion keys or midikeyhook, with the output directed to the midiyoke input on the track. keep in mind you'd need midiox open same timie as tracktion for this with your loaded map.koolkeys wrote:Grymm, I agree about the having everything in one place. there may be a plugin by soma or nicfit or someone else that can take a key C3 say (which would be Z on tracktion keys for instance) to output cc#78 127 (hypothetically dont know if this is the right number or even if it's setup in freeamp2 to accept this yet), then C#3 which would be X, to send cc#78 0.
so you can do it if freeamp2 can do it. i think maudio sells a midi footpedal board... not sure.

yep just downloaded the pdf manual and confirmed it. it works exactly like i posted, and seems relatively easy to program.

Thanks for the tips. I may have to try the software way for now, as $150 is out of range right now.
I've used MIDIox in the past, I'll have to get it back out and try it, as I never really did much with it before.

Works FINE between a Strat and REAPER. Gratulations on the well-made v 2! Presets that give a clue would be an improvement
RESET button didn't work here.
On getting a good CLEAR sound eveything else between guitar & amp is based, imho. The (preliminary) presets that suggest clearness don't really provide it (same as in 1.5). Various presets/varieties of clearness should imo be the starting point of adding effects in FreeAmp.
Looking forward to the v 2 release

Ooohh, I may have to save up for that foot controller. I could use it to trigger keyswitches in Kontakt2 and also have the expression pedals and such right there!
This could help my keyboard setup also! I've played piano for a long time, but this would really be useful.
Thanks, I didn't realize that they made those for some reason!

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what some(most) of the presets actually mean! Like I said, it helps me expiriment, but doesn't let me dial up, say, a Marshall tone. Then again, I'm still learning how to distinguish different amps and such.

check www.asseca.com and nicfit/soma's pages he hosts -- there may be a midi plugin they made to transform a key into a control change, if so, then all you'd need is midiyoke, tracktion keys, and that plug. i am pretty sure midimung can do this though dont know the details beyond that.koolkeys wrote:Thanks for the tips. good luck, and if you get it working, make a guide and asseca would probably put it in the freeamp2 manual
this may do it;

Excellent! I will try it when I get home from work tonight(around 1am). I will surely write a guide if it works.
And thanks for the link mark! I'm a regular on eBay(sell there part time) so I will be sure to keep checking there. I also have wholesale accounts with some distributors who have audio gear, so I may check if I can find some wholesale prices also. But I haven't looked for these before, so I'm not sure.
One way or another, I will make this work!
I'll try the plug first. I think there was another plug out there from NiallM or something that did something similar, but I'm not sure.

By the way, is there ANY reason at all to have the version 1.5 of this? Anything there that isn't here? Or a unique sound that I can't get with this one? Just making sure before I delete the old one.
