I am surprised nobody mentioned Waves GTR. I have GR2 and a pod 2.0. The Waves GTR comes closest to the "pod" sound. GR2 is good for effected signals though, and the modifiers option is genius.

my sample is GTR !!

i think is the most natural/transparent guitar sound processor.
transparent, i mean : a good response if i change the pick up fo the guitar !
GR2 is not so responsive, good but not as GTR.

Last time I looked, you can't reamp while listening to other tracks. That is a critical flaw because it means you have to guess at how the mix will work. That's almost worse than just recording wet to start with.Hink wrote:here is the xt's control panel...;)

i wish Line 6 made a rackmount version of the toneport, stuffing things into a rack is the easiest way for me to hide new purchases from my wife. A new $3000 Eventide unit in the rack will go unoticed indefinitely, whereas a $200 UX2 would be discovered the moment she sees me using it, "What the heck is that and how much was it?"

Why bother making a bigger dongle for gearbox software?nutsadamus wrote:i wish Line 6 made a rackmount version of the toneport, stuffing things into a rack is the easiest way for me to hide new purchases from my wife. What does your wife say when you respond with a little bit of "SHUTTHEHELLUP" right across the mouth? :)
Guys love to blame stuff on their wives- myself included. The truth is that you'd just rather not have the conversation anymore than she'd like to have the conversation about how much the new drapes cost. :)

I played with the Trash demo and I just couldn't really get anything amazing out of it.

I'd like to hear some clips of Trash in isolation that were amazing. :) (or even in a mix) I want to like it. Really, I do.

On a related note -- does anyone with Guitar Rig 2 know of a quick way to restore the factory presets? I always end up dragging them over each other (and therefore losing them). I know it's careless but i can't seem to find the feature to lock them forever either as the lock button is off whenever I load a new instance!
Would be really grateful if someone knows the answer to this one...

Za

Warp VST is nice but it has nothing on a Bad Monkey!!Trevor Jackson wrote:I am currently playing around with Guitar Rig. I like it but, I mean, it's not the Holy Grail. Does any one know of what my alternatives are? Paticularly that aren't so bloody expensive? I have so many plugins on my host system (Ableton) that I don't feel I really need another chorus, compressor, etc. So, I guess a good distortion unit and maybe some other guitar specific effects would be great. (What? did somebody say "free download'?)
Thanks.
Please don't feed the troll!!
