i'm looking for a good dub delay plugin. free would be nice ... but commercial is fine also. (gotta keep those plugin developers well fed so they keep creating their meisterwerke!)
doesn't have to be fancy with extra effects and a built-in dehumidifier ... just solid and sexy and very analog.
thanks. :-)

Arcdev's delays are cool for free, so is p1 tape delay (if you can find it).
That audiodamage one is good for payware.

Most of the stuff here's cool - but I especially recommend Bionic Delay.

Check Audio Damages Dubstation, perfect for Dub style delays.
M'Snah I don't think there is a difference its just in dub and reggae theres a typical delay sound which tends to be a delay with an increasing high pass filter, nothing too fancy.

If the delay starts it's life with a geordie accent (for instance)& then (due to some strange twist of fate or weird injury) ends up with a jamaican accent - is it considered an authentic dubdelay?rachmiel wrote:a dub delay has a jamaican accent.

A dub delay would mimic the characteristics of a tape delay as Scratch would use strung all over the room, speeding up and slowing down and all.
Dubbsack is certainly awesome, as are arcdev's, audiodamage's, paradigm shifter 2 can be made to do the awfullest dub fsu and of course there's Jack Dark's dub delay he named after my loudmouthed self, run-a-dub-dub.

if i answered that, runagate would have to join a top-40 band. are you ready to accept responsibility for this?

Only if it's a boy band & he gets to do a video pulling his shirt off in slow motion & posing with a cheesy grin on some anonymous carribean Island.rachmiel wrote:> If the delay starts it's life with a geordie accent (for instance)& then (due to some strange twist of fate or weird injury) ends up with a jamaican accent - is it considered an authentic dubdelay

It would be nice if he started rapping in a fake jamaican accent - for total boy band credibilty also.

I can rap in a fake Jamaican accent at will and with startling proficiency.diverdee wrote:Only if it's a boy band & he gets to do a video pulling his shirt off in slow motion & posing with a cheesy grin on some anonymous carribean Island.rachmiel wrote:> If the delay starts it's life with a geordie accent (for instance)& then (due to some strange twist of fate or weird injury) ends up with a jamaican accent - is it considered an authentic dubdelay

The only time I feel the urge to "freestyle" is for my former drummer when he pays his ragga. Of course the content of my subconscious mind varies greatly from most fake Jamaicans.
That will never, ever cease to make me laugh.rachmiel wrote:> If the delay starts it's life with a geordie accent (for instance)& then (due to some strange twist of fate or weird injury) ends up with a jamaican accent - is it considered an authentic dubdelay

It's always nice to know your epitaph long before you die!
