Hello folks @ KVR.

My friend has recently purchased the Boss Gt-6 guitar effects panel. I'm curious if it is possible to automate the parameters of this external piece of hardware through a software sequencer, such as nuendo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it has a MIDI Input, then most likely it is.

My Boss ME-10 has midi input, but only listens to program changes. So having a Midi input says not much about it's abilities.

For sure you can send Program Change messages to the GT-6, so it will change the patch accordingly.

For further parameter automation you'll have to dive into the manual
There is a chapter on the Midi implementation, discussing what midi messages are understood. Actually it says so on the bottom of page 77:

Boss GT-6 Manual wrote:Recognizes messages designated for use for realtime control over parameters

And on page 64:

Boss GT-6 Manual wrote:You can control specified parameters during a performance by having the GT-6 receive Control Change messages. Parameters to be controlled are set with Pedal Assign (p.47).
