Quite competent, but I guess I wasn't getting the essential point here...
The essential point here is that I had three vocal elements which were supposed to form a chronological progression but due to lack of time, thought and effort failed to gel into one.

I laughed at the 'female distress call' - that is taken from an informal rehearsal recording of a song we are currently learning. :D

Hi there
this month I'm not in the mood for fighting :hihi:
...probably the summer dullness...)

There many great numbers so far. It's going to be a tough month
I'm entering the contest just for fun with a lazy, nonsense thing...
...and I'll stay on the back porch enjoying the contest (waiting for the usual suspects...)

Cheers

my monthly abstraction is being held-up due to my lacking any vocal ability whatsoever...

You have clear recognisable style (of singing and weird consequent arranging),
respect!
This is a small musical! :) So what style is it? A reggaed musical, but polka?
Love it, there are so many details in here, funny and chambersong alike.

Do you know the song "Die Banane" by german band Die Ärzte? If not: It has the similar humour in it - politically incorrect, of course :hihi:

Next month John Scofield! (just kidding)
I was thinking this month of attempting a Reggae version of the Mike Stern tune "Little Shoes". but I chickened out because I couldn't scratch up the time or the nerve to do it right. It also didn't help that I actually don't like Reggae very much. :(
Beardy, we are living on different planets :D

Good to have all this worlds here though!
Not that I'm a jazz-hater! I'm a guitarist too. I own albums by Mike Stern, McLaughlin, Corryell, Satriani (and like parts of the last three).
But a Scofield-Month? :hihi:

Seems I have a lack of respect, but let me explain further:
Used to hear Fusion stuff and all those guys for years, have an old buddy who is absolutely fannish concerning Scofield (he's a guitar teacher btw.).
To me Punk, Industrial, ArtRock (ok, progression from Prog-Rock) were such a deliverance against all that scalist stuff that, sorry, Joe Zawinul :x I did not liked this sort of music made by musicians for musicians anymore("musician's musicians"). Ok, this surely is argued too flat. :) And not that I could play that stuff, but this is not the point.

My ideal Jazz-guy is Miles Davis (70s period)

BTW, this month has definitely brought out some creative gems. I was getting worried there as the last two months were average.
