Yeah..experimenting with different soundfonts from the net can open up M42 even more.Imagine putting drum loops thru the BPM synced pulsar, LFo and X-Y delays for some real tenchoid stuff.

But the original sf2 for the M42 has been specially designed for ambient sounds and the presets have been talored to go with it. Remember you also have a VA synth to layer it, as well as do split keyboards and seperate panning.

Am I wrong or was the release long time ago?

well...somewhat of a while ago, but you may remember, we were having download issues, and since we were having those issues, we could not oficially announce it yet. Then we moved site, and hopefully the download issues are behind us, and now we have officially announced version 2.
YEAH!

The M42 is pretty cool to to program, but the sliders and numbers are so darn small!!!

Tim,

I already have a nice 120MB soundfont filled with acoustic, synth, brass and vocal textures! One question I have is about how to keep a tempo synced sound or arp going and locked to the host's tempo. Is the latter automatic? How do you do the former? I was able to keep the "beat" going by using the Mod Matrix gate and a long delay, but I want to know if there is an on/off switch I am not seeing.

You can PM me if this is trade secret stuff, but I am sure others would want to know this as well.

Its all tempo synced, so there is no "free" rates. The trick ( as with any BPM gate type sound on any other synths) is to play your chords or melodies right on time on the beat when you change it. Its a bit tricky at times, but its part of learning an instrument.

That SF2 sounds great!

Tim,

It's called "Spiral" and will primarily be evolving textures and tempo synced/arp-like patches using 100% of my own sounds that I sampled and converted to sound font.

You get synth sounds, vocals (Mm, Oo and Oh), acoustic instruments, plucked instruments, strings, brass stacks, bass synth, a cool piano, synth bells, large acoustic chimes and more! Plus 127 presets. I plan on creating an entire Sprial series and then I will work on other topics of interest.

Once it's done, if you like what you hear, it would be great if you could tell others about it.

Believe it or not, this was a user request, to make the whole GUI smaller as ver 1 filled the entire screen. So everything is now very compact, but it also depends on what resolution you got your monitor under.

A very generous collection with an apt naming...I can see my M42-usage spiralling even more out of control...

I think thats the Idea :-)

it could be going in "Spirals in Hyperspace"!!
Ok..a little Ozric influenced there..but I'm going to see 'em this saturday in San Fransisco Fillmore, so I'm excused! But I bet Eddie and Brandi would love M42!
