Really excellent work! There are so many talented people floating around here these days.

Please, please, please.... design some knobs, sliders, buttons etc. for SynthEdit - you could insist anyone using them in a project give you a credit (good advertising)

I like these (nice knobs, not too big!)...

You can download a free demo of SynthEdit from http://www.synthedit.com/

Incidentally I really like your work - what tools do you use for these designs?

Very nice!

Very nice! You posted these beofore, no? I'm suprized you're not working full time somewhere.

Those are very nice..some are deceptively simple (it may seem odd, but a lot of gui designers seem to have issues with simplicity :P ) Nothing is more inspiring than a gui you look at and and all your concentration goes directly to making sounds, not figuring out 'how' to make sounds. :tu:

daaaamn nice stuff. any 3D in there?

TSV wrote:Hi, it's time for a new display of my GUI work. I'll give you a short background story of myself - I'm 20 years old and don't have any education on graphic design, nor do I do graphics for living. At the moment I work as an airport security officer and at one point I should be trained as an airforce pilot. GUI design is a nice hobby when I need to take a break from producing music. So now you know a lot about me even if you didn't want to.

I decided to give GUI design a new go few weeks ago, so majority of these examples are done in the past two weeks (in very short deadline) so try to ignore any spelling errors or other rather wierd stuff. I just wanted to see what I can and cannot do. I know there's still a lot to be improved and I'm willing to work on it - also, don't worry, I won't do anymore examples, but I expect to get something serious to work on.

I'm up to freeware (free of charge) and commercial GUI design. For more info, contact me via email at tsv@tsvdesign.net. The more info you can give the better I can decide if I am interested, or capable for the project.

So let's start the tour. (lemme know if the site gets down)

Yes its access virus. I wanted to do a quick hardware emulation and I chosed virus. Theres +100 parameters on the panel so it was a challenge to get them all to fit. The text is indeed quite small so other solution would had been to divide it into 3 segments (multipaged gui). I wanted to avoid any distracting elements such as lens glare and background specularity.

This was supposed to be something else but then I found aura pro
from db-audioware (http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2074.html) and decided to use its layout for this example (yea i was lazy, I hope they don't mind) And theres few variations and a product render of it.

I have always wanted to do some guitar stuff. I did want to include those cabels and logos to waste space. It's kinda work in progress since theres isn't even background.

The old autopan gui. This kind of design I'm also keen to try more. I would also like to try more softcore 3d as in reason.

I wanted to try more "hardcore" hardware look. The actual eq panel is missing from these shots. (JPG has worsen the image quality)

And megamix of old and some newer designs in small size.

Links for some larger versions

[electrix]
Player's point of view

[boss]
Bossy guitar effects (as in bossy emulation)

[mirage]
Mirage emulation. This is an old layout and the look and features
will be different in the released version.

In case you are interested to see all GUIs in full resolution please contact me and I'll send them.
sweet work man.

Eh no.. basically every single pixel is "3d". I do everything from labels to led glows in lightwave. Only labels in virus and auto-pan are made in phosthop to get the sharpest possible font. Anyway Im glad to see they got good welcome and I want to thank for the feedback. Yea I try to keep my designs simple as in hardware instruments. I know quite many fancy looking guis that are a bit too fancy with spaceship decoration and stuff.

Post

it's beautiful man. your work is top. what 3D program do you use? max?

also how do you animate the led's and such? is it right in 3D? i've always wondered how to do that stuff. is it something blender can do (are you familiar with blender)?
