A friend of mine gave me Cubase sx, and I need to know what a dongle is. Is it something like a USB flash drive, or something like that?

I heard that opening your computer up and dropping a jurassic loaf straight on the circuity bypasses cubase asking for a dongle.

It's in the box Cubase comes in.Next to the manual.

If your friend gave you Cubase without the dongle, then it is most likely a cracked copy, and may have viruses, spyware, format your hard drive, or only produce backup tracks for the Ray Conniff Singers and Barry Manilow.

If your friend gave you Cubase with the dongle, I'd like to get to know your friend better

A Cubase dongle will look sorta-like this, except the color and stamped name will be different.

All you have to do is nicely request your friend to put his dongle very gentle in your USB port. Done!!!!
