Well midi clips are easier to record, just plugin the triggers and play, then the user can assign his own sounds on our groove.
On the other hand audio drum clips take more time to produce a decent sounding tight mix(+we have to mix per style) and the user cant do much after we recorded them(except if we provide solo recordings of each sound...time consuming hehe).
That's why i said midi drums, more useful, everyone can get a hold of a good freeware decent sounding sampleset, i'll just map the roland v-drums to one of those, jam, then submit the files so you can play around as well:>
This summer is really busy, in september we can talk about it(About more samples, the midi files are gonna get submitted sooner), i can even sample a g2x modular, andromeda, lead3, new tr, the list goes on, its all about getting the time to do it and since you guys have a way of seeding the files, thats ok with me. If i did it on my sites, the bandwidth would be too much if it was download only.

Villy, that would be great to have some MIDI files to download. They are big timesavers.
About uploading, you don't have to use Azureus to upload, it was just a suggestion. I personally don't use Azureus, as I never liked it. But it is a popular client.
You can upload and create torrents with any client pretty much. I use uTorrent and it's the best one I've tried. And they have a no install version if you want it.
It all comes down to preference. Same thing with which port you use. You can actually choose ANY port you want. It won't work better or worse then any other port. The one mentioned is only for the sake of example. Also, different ISP's block the standard BT port, which is 6881, so you should choose something besides that.
glaucomys, I'm not sure why you are getting that error. Have you tried any other browsers? I have heard a couple of complaints with Opera and the site, but nothing real traceable. I only have one language installed, and it should be the only one available.
When EXACTLY do you get that error? Which button do you press to get it? And again, does it work with other browsers for you?

Sorry, I wrote Opera. My mind is scrambled. I did get an email about problems with Opera, so I just got mixed up. But I personally use Safari all the time and have no problems at all.
So we'll need to narrow down the problem. I know it CAN work with Safari, as I use it, but that doesn't mean that it CAN'T mess up. We'll figure it out.

koolkeys, thanks for helping this guys problem whilst i was away (asleep).. I'll try and give some tips in a minute if he's still having trouble.
Also koolkeys, I think you should mention that if people can only download a maximum of 20kbps, it is because their ISP is following the recent trend and capping the bittorrent protocol. it's easy to get passed, you just need to tell them to enable encryption (rc4) to bypass this silly limit.

Well, I don't know if it was done in 5 minutes, but we are at 401 users and 127GB of transfer!
And guess what? The server isn't even barely being touched. I'm glad I paid a little extra for good servers for the site.
The past day the signups have went up FAST. At this pace, this will be great.
We need more people uploading songs and stuff! Not everyone will have samples to share. But hundreds of people here have songs!
Anyone?

Yeah, I'm suprised there hasn't been more album uploads, I guess it's just because people don't know about it unless they go into this 'sample' section of the site, which is fair enough but that's the reason to it I feel.
and we did make it to 400 users before midnight, of course now we have 411 users so it's all good.
I think in a couple of days it will expand expotentially with more and more users spreading the word to their mates about the excellent samples available there, already I am very happy with the stuff I've downloaded (got almost every torrent seeding)
I'll also be willing to donate too Brent, a few tenners here and there each month to help out the cost.

It's cool, whatever you wish to do is more then appreciated. Don't strain yourself though.
I did make a post at the Cafe about this, but I haven't checked to see if anyone responded.
It will grow, as time goes by. I'm sure of that. Heck, who would have thought that we would have over 400 users this fast? Not me, that's for sure.
