anyone know of a free way of standalone application for hooking the audio output of one program to the input of another for PC, as you can with Jack OS X or Soundflower on Mac?

I've heard differing reports on how reliable it is, but I think it is the only thing at the driver level that can do it. There are a few VSTs that can send between hosts.

yea, and so far that's the only thing i can seem to find.

its not an issue for me when it comes to a host, but more for some odd standalone programs i'd like to generate some sounds from...

I think some host will alow you to do that, of course i just use my host to do it all.
