Yeah Hink it's a great new feature. FL's pianoroll is full of great tools (Flam tool, chopper, and many more, each release seems to get more) which is why I don't think I'd ever be able to get very comfortable with another host as most of my work is done in the pianoroll.

Hmmmm..... I gotta download that FL demo. What might be ideal is using Fruity inside of Samplitude, which is what I like to use for audio.

Hey Cap'n Spanky. Maybe you should give Acid Pro a try. In Acid 5 they added the "Groove Pool". This gives you a wide selection of different groove types that works both on midi notes and audio loops as well. On midi it's basically a quantize type of function for different grooves. I haven't used the midi features much in Acid yet, but it also allows you to take an existing groove and edit them, and then save your own so that you can basically create your own groove templates.

The other nice thing is that Acid is a Rewire Host as well as a slave, which means you could use it in conjunction with Sonar.

Here's a pic of the Acid Groove Pool. Notice I have "Shuffle01" selected. Which ever Groove I have selected in the pool shows what it's doing in the Groove Pool Editor, where you can then change things up if you wish. So basically, it gives you a good selection of Groove quantize options and then lets you create your own.

hehe, no it wasn't on purpose. If I would have seen your post before I corrected it though, I have to admit I would have left it that way and said I did do it on purpose. :P

Cubasee? :P

Do you use Groove Quantize much? I have to admit that I've never gotten much out of my experiments with it, but I know people swear by it (and it's good to humanize your stuff), but I could never get the quantize of a loop to just magically "fit" my music. I seem to recall the old Cubase was a real vanguard in this domain.

That ACID thing looks real interesting, I must say!

Rednroll, this is how you do it:

Code: Select all

http://www.gluemeat.com/images/nicefnjobcanada.gif
Easist thing: paste your picture URL in, highlight it, then hit the "URL" button up top; it'll magically wrap it! :D
