I don't exactly understand what you're getting at... of course the video at that link isn't an example of "white boys doing music" so I can only assume that it is an example of "music that doesn't even make me tap my toes"...VicDiesel wrote:As I make my way through this thread, I notice .
It just illustrates how subjective musical tastes are but since you do seem to be hoisting that song high above the "white boys doing music", please allow me a moment to treat it like a piñata...
"I Feel Love" is one of the most boring and overrated songs IMHO...

Actually, it is white boy music. Other than the singer (who isn't very toe tapping in it, but for me is the best part of the song) the music's all made by Giorgio Moroder.Yagushi wrote:I don't exactly understand what you're getting at... of course the video at that link isn't an example of "white boys doing music" so I can only assume that it is an example of "music that doesn't even make me tap my toes"...VicDiesel wrote:As I make my way through this thread, I notice .![]()

Who should have stuck with his Einzelganger identity...but he only did one album of that and when it didn't make enough cash, moved on to more commercial stuff.shamann wrote:Actually, it is white boy music. What I was getting at is that for all the energy with which I see people hacking away at guitars and drums, way too many links are of music that is almost completely devoid of any sort of groove. Of course the ones that purposefully are not based on any meter are excepted from this complaint. But there's too much that is popular music in 4/4 time and using a limited harmonic/melodic vocabulary. If it then doesn't have some form of gut level appeal, then I wonder what's the point. Yeah, I know: the oh so honest lyrics of teenage angst. Sorry, I outgrew that a while back.Yagushi wrote:I don't exactly understand what you're getting at... of course the video at that link isn't an example of "white boys doing music" so I can only assume that it is an example of "music that doesn't even make me tap my toes"...VicDiesel wrote:As I make my way through this thread, I notice .![]()
If someone hasn't posted this one yet, they ought to have:
Not quite as good, but at least a better Donna Summer track:
Victor.

While I enjoyed the Contortions track, it's so different that I wouldn't have made the connection.
Victor.
