Congratulations, Live Users!

Live 5 can group any Live instrument, midi or audio effect into an aggregate group and save it. Apparently Live6 extends this to any 3rd party synth or effect. It's a fantastic feature.

Save as a group...like an effect you can load into another project?

Other new stuff:

- new Dynamic Tube audio effect emulates the classic warm distortion sound of vacuum tubes

- new EQ Eight features individual control of left and right channels as well as a mid/side mode for subtle-to-drastic color manipulations of the stereo field

- new Note Length MIDI effect makes the length of incoming MIDI notes playable and automatable

you can save the group like it is one effect in the browser and then drag it into any project. You select the device chain, control-G (or Apple-G) and drag it into the browser.... saved

Now though, it will include any 3rd party plug-ins (that is how I read it) so if you have say a Zebra2 preset that you like to play with a Kjaerhus compressor, you can save them together as their own device.

Been doing development on alpha/beta 6. They pulled the link so I can't talk about anything... but the new features just slam ! Live users are about to see some fantastic stuff in the next weeks 8)

ooops... M-audio took the page down... guess they jumped the gun and someone at Ableton gave someone at M-audio a pissed phone call

Looks like someone got M-Firedio!

Eh... Nothing I'm too excited about in there other than multi-core support and new devices. Does it also support 64 bit Windows to the fullest?
Movie is cool but I guess, but I'm waiting to see how it works. If it allows you to play movie clips then, Yahoo!, but if it just has import an avi and sync music to it... yawn.
All of the additions look good don't get me wrong, they were just low on my list. A way to do global presets/snap shots with morphing, and a way to more quickly set up groups would have been nice.
I am curious about universal devices...

On second thought there's some really good stuff there... just missing a few little things I though would make it like multi screen support.. etc.
