Listened to it again. It is as kitsch as piano music can get, very close to Keith Jarrett in say the Köln concert but even a bit more clueless & without Jarrett's (very limited) 'virtuosity'. This is exactly the style of music most composers hate, and precisely the kitschy piano sound that most pianists abhor. But true, this is a muzak and a sound for mass audiences, preferably attending a summer night concert in the park, with a white Steinway in the spotlights near the waterfront, and a well dressed long haired Very Romantic pianist acting the virtuoso by simply letting some floating chords suggest An Infinite Realm around some 'playfully' improvised melodies.... LOTs of reverb and please some delay as well... beautiful... the women are delighted... an unforgettable summer evening, romantic music in the park....

O, how I hate this. Compared to this shit Scott Joplin is really a Piano Saint. And I wonder what kind of composers/musicians are in this thread.... that find it possible to LIKE this  :o :-o

You really are quite a nasty piece of work, aren't you.

I haven't even read this thread, listened to this demo being refered to, or much care now cuz that's some beautiful smack talk. Thanks for this lovely review.

... post deleted ... better to say nothing in this case.

And please don't feed the trolls.

It's not a bad sounding instrument at all, seems on par with the best workstation pianos currently available (as much as it's possible to tell with the giant wash of reverb surrounding it).

IMHO it can't touch the best of Sampletekk's offerings for example (which are a steal right now at under $100 for even the biggest and baddest [TBO and 7CG]). So those are alternatives to consider. And of course so is Akoustik Piano for those who qualify for the cheapo NI anniversary crossgrade.

But I don't think this is meant to compete with the Multi GB offerings out there...it would seem a good alternative for those with less Ram to burn.

agreed, but I'll still wait for a demo to give them the benefit of the doubt. I own the Art Vista VGP myself, so I'm not exactly looking for another piano, but still a new concept is always interesting.

I beg to disagree.
Quite honestly, I was verry surprised.
I think you have to play it to appreciate it..
It's very much an instrument.

Sounds interesting - anythings got to be better than their last Piano which I always felt sounded out of tune even though they denied it.

that's the truth!
but I respect George, because even though I constantly rail against that little vst, he was always polite in all of our conversations.

Wish I'd signed up for the beta too - didn't know about it.

Well I said it was not a bad sounding *instrument*... :D
I just think the sound isn't anywhere close to the libraries I mentioned...and of course I'm just going by this demo that's drowning in reverb...it's not like I CAN play it...yet  .
Do you have 7CG, TBO, Ivory or AKP to compare it to?
