Has anyone got any Medieval/Renaissance instrument samples in either Reason or Akai format for sale or download? I'm particularly interested in the ancient wind instruments, like crumhorn, shawm and racket.

I know Northstar still sells a collection from several years ago called "Ancient Worlds," but I would prefer to get the samples used (and save some $) if possible. My intention is to convert the samples for use with Reason, just so you know. Thanks!

How about Early Patches?

Rubber Chicken has Ensoniq sounds called Renaissance/Medieval, they are shorter but well sampled; they can be converted into Reason, or RCS may do it for you.

And the same people who made this (I own early patches, old, but great) recently made "Banchetto musicale" with loads of old instruments, but this one was too expensive for me. I think their demo consists of a "Krummhorn" for various sample-formats.

There were some demo-multisamples in a german mag. Was it 'keys' or 'beat'? I have to look....great stuff anyway.

I can recommend this one.
It is the successor of Early Patches and more up to date.

Ditto Early Patches & Banchetto Musicale. To me, these are the most versatile and complete libraries for renaissance instruments I know of.

When I bought my DAW I looked around and the only really complete one was Early Patches, which is pretty old, but very nice (even though I've only toyed around with it). So, if you've got 118 Euros lying around, the updated Banchetto Musicale is probably the way to go.

So everyone's pretty much agreeing? Must be a cold day in Hell.
