I'm using EnergyXT, anyone else get that input oddity?
Ok , did more testing and that 1.3khz dip is still there even with the cabs off. (just discovered hives green is bypass)
edit:And if you switch hives green bypass cab to openback the dip goes to 2.5khz.

This is a dumb suggestion so I apologize in advance. Is this anything about using a mono guitar cord into a stereo 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and there's an imperfect match such that the 1/8 stereo plug issues one live channel and one empty channel? There's some 1/4 mono to 1/8 stereo adapters and some 1/4 stereo to 1/8 stereo adapters get lucky if you insert a 1/4 mono plug the 1/8 stereo issue is nicely summed by chance. But sometimes there's the funny "one on one off" thing I mentioned?Synesthesiac wrote:Did you try toggling that dropdown input menu just above the cabinet?
I don't get a live signal until i switch that from 'guitar' to 'stereo' for some reason.

ok. do you think you could add an invert switch near it? to make it more obvious, and default the switch to the on state? honestly it was the #1 problem i had. i couldn't figure out wtf i was doing wrong! every envelope i've used before has defaulted to standard behaviorFrettedSynth wrote:grymmjack wrote:here is a stupid question -- why is the guitsyn envelope inverted? no WONDER i couldn't figure it out!FreeAMP2 Manual wrote:ENVELOPE GENERATOR
This Attack/Decay Envelope Generator can be routed to 1 of 5 destinations. Note: This is an inverted envelope! Meaning that "Decay" in the envelope's time to rise.Personal preferance
The synth was made in the time you did the graphics (2-3 weeks)
When done my head was spinning with ideas of things that could be done with a gate that IMHO tracks that well
That is why I have said many times "the synth will grow" Eventually the synth will have two EG's, a step sequenced modulator, a noise oscillator that can operate as a fixed pitch for poly stuff and will also be able to track pitch when used as a mono synth, an octaver will come in eventually, I have about twelve filters I want to add that will use a dropdown like the EQ to switch between them (only the active filter will use CPU)
and that is just off the top of my head have a list somewhere

jeez! that's alot of stuff to add
plus i can buy you beers and get you drunk and then convince you to use me exclusively when you are tempted by the other sexy ui designers offering their provocative works
muhaha!

Great job! And after making multiple system adjustments, something clicked and it runs perfectly for me. FreeAmp is really saving my ass...I've got a big guitar sample library, but it is already amped and the signal is so dry it can sound like a synthesizer, so I'm sure it was intended to be post-processed. Wheel-bends with pre-amped samples always sound fake until you re-amp them (you have to amplify a bend, not bend an amplification). After buying Kontakt 2 and two libraries, I'm broke.
So not only does FA2 inject awesome warmth into my overdriven but bone-dry samples, but it gets rid of alot of the fakeness inherent to guitar pitch-bends (heavilly distorted guitar that is...no faking it with a clean guitar).
Thanks again!
Edit: Oops...sorry, I bumped the wrong thread I guess (had this one bookmarked).

Yeah, I tried that too but no signal. I'm unsure if this is a problem on my side or if it's a bug in Freeamp. It's also kind of strange as T-willy told me he got signal without even hitting the "synth setup" button.TotcProductions wrote:Really? I get a signal on both.Synesthesiac wrote:Did you try toggling that dropdown input menu just above the cabinet?

Peace
I looked into that too but no dice yet. I'll double check that again when I fire up my system in a bit though and let you know.Koolkeys wrote:
Isn't there an input monitor button on every channel is Cubase? Is it turned on?
Turn the signal all the way down or just partial? I would think that the signal should be up all the way. I will try this though and report back my findings. Thanks for the suggestion.Fretted Synth wrote:Not sure how to setup cubase SX2 for direct through, but for the direct guitar you are hearing you must open the m-audio control panel and turn down the HW input of the channel you have the guitar plugged into, Hope that gets you somewhere?

I just read that the manual is out. I'll try running through that as well.

Anyone with cubase sx2 that wouldn't mind giving a quick run down of how the set up the audio channel signal for this plug in? Like I said before, I can record the raw signal and play it back with the effect but I can't record with the amp live time. When I hit the synth setup and click the "power" switch on, the signal goes dead.
PS: Slightly hammered right now, at a BBQ so if I need to clarify let me know.

Not sure if this will help but...if i remember correctly sx2 has dedicated mixer channels for hardware inputs. if you put the effect in the insert of those channels then the effect will be 'printed' when you record.
I have no idea what's up with the signal going dead part..

Ok, I finally figured it out.
In Device setup under VST/Multitrack.
Turn off the "direct monitoring" option (uncheck it).
Then, on the audio track that you are recording to, click the monitor button (with the speaker icon).
It's easy when you know how. lol
Anyway, I posted this in case it helps anyone else.
