Someone (koolkeys, maybe) mentioned using some dry recorded guitar tracks to set up presets, so we're all on the same page - any thoughts on that? I know for a fact that the presets I do for my heavy strung low tuned surf boards will not translate well to a Les Paul or whatever. I think it would be cool if we could just use some dry Strat/Les Paul stuff for consistency?

That's a good idea in THEORY.

But.....I don't want to have to play a wave file over and over to tweak a preset for a guitar I don't own and/or a playing style I don't practice. Just as Joe created FA2 to please himself, I write presets to please me....if they happen to work for others well, that's marvelous. If they're not exactly your cup of tea they may at least serve as starting points. Surely the presets already included were not created from a single, static wave file?

Yeah, your right! Everything should work as a starting point for others, and that's probably as good as it would ever get anyway. No way to set the Pre Compressor for anyone elses rig/style, for instance.

I've been making my presets with a DeArmond M75T. It's a set-neck like a Paul, has single coil pups like a Strat and is chambered. I like using this guitar because I find presets
made with it usually translate well to other guitars.

I've always found other people's presets to be nothing more
than starting points anyway. One man's Holy Grail is another
man's Nest Of Angry Bees In A Tin Can!!

Here ya go. messing around with the synth, hit on this, sounds kinda phasey hence the name.

the file is actually an .fxp but i changed the extension to zip because the crappy geocities site wasn't accepting it.

after downloading just change the extension back to fxp and your ready to phase out or on.
