Are there any song writers / composers who are actually using the Halion Symphonic Orchestra?
I would love to discuss with those who are especially regarding the Strings Sections?
Are they able to respond to demanding vituoso Violin requirements, rapido, prestissimo etc?
Thanks

I don't have any experience with HSO, though it looks interesting (and as an owner of a competing product I can get a nice discount which makes it even more interesting). For solo violin you may also want to check out Garritan's Stradivari:
http://www.garritan.com/stradivari.html
Here are a couple of mp3 examples from the website:
www.garritan.com/Strad/fabio-CapriccioNo1.mp3
www.garritan.com/Strad/ViolinCFSheherazadev3.mp3
There's also a nice solo violin in the Synful Orchestra package from www.synful.com :
http://www.synful.com/Sounds/Synful_Pla ... uartet.mp3
http://www.synful.com/User%20Demo%20Sou ... Violin.mp3
Both of these instruments apply some sort of synthesis to achieve smoother transitions from note to note (a well-known problem with sample-based instruments).
