I got my first copy of Computer Music recently and installed Muzys last week from the cover DVD. When I installed the program I had no midi hardware and answered as such when first setting up. Since then I have dug out an old Yamaha keyboard and hooked it up to my computer with an M-audio midisport uno. In the muzys system menu: midi hardware setup window the only option I am offered for midi input port is "none".

What now?

midisport uno is a 1 in/1 out USB to midi interface to quote from the (freshly opened) box.

In case you hadn't guessed, I am completely new to this, so please excuse me if I haven't included enough info or posted to the wrong forum.

Did you install the driver for the M-audio midisport uno?

If not, then download the latest driver from:

http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers

and install it.

Most of the time, it goes like this:

-> turn off or unplug device
-> download driver
-> install driver
-> restart computer
-> turn on / plug in device
-> ready to rock :)

By the way, maybe you can also give LUNA FREE a try.
LUNA FREE also features audio recording!

That did the trick. The driver I installed from the CD that came with the cable did not work. The driver I installed from the M-audio website did. In retrospect I don't think I restarted my machine after the CD installation, which might have saved some trouble (yours and mine). Thank you for your thoughtful instructions.
