i went a searchin but came up empty handed...

is there a simple vst plugin that you can tap on and it tells you the bpm?

great for hosts without tap tempo

any help greatly appreciated.

right click the coarse tempo in fl and you'll get a menu with tap tempo or use analogx

yeah i thought about FL but i wouldnt want to have to load that just for tap tempo.

DOH@ analog x, of course.... i guess i would have wanted a vst, but it actually doesnt matter i suppose

How about Teragon Audio's BeatCounter VST?
It's not a tap tempo thing and not sure how accurate it is, but worth a try...

OOPS! It's still in my beta folder (where it might live forever...) but it's still useable. I just need to fix some graphics.

PS Proximity pad is cool but my favorite has to be the enveloper, You can use it to side-chain anything.

Don't know about Mr. Merrill but this is doing the job for me...

So it works in a host that accepts updateHostTempo messages? I had only tested it in eXT (infact the CC out that corresponds to tempo is hardcoded for XT's min/max BPMs).

I was looking for a taptempo plugin, to use in... Reaper, and found this thread.

I just dled Soma TapTEmpo_alpha, but Reaper doesn't "see" it (it is weird, he sees most of the plugins) : i wanted to know if you already tried it in REaper ?
ANd... did it work ?

I tried Teragon Beatcounter, but it wasn't accurate enough....
