Hello everybody,

For my first post here, I'm asking about a product that I'm really waiting for.

Squids, tell me if IK Multimedia is working on the successor of "T-RackS" ? This plugin was released as a VST plugin around year 2002. It's being old :).

So with all the research IK has made in analog modeling (AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX...), and for the effects in the upcoming Studiophonik, I hope that they are working on "T-RackS 2" ?

I really need an even better version of this complete mastering tool. I know they can do it sound better with a lot of analog modeled vintage gear, and with a BETTER GUI.

Thanks for reading,
Julien

You can't really improve on perfection...

well maybe not perfection but close to it is quite acceptable.

Besides people have lots of vintage hardware in their studios that are way older then T-racks and they still use them on a day to day basis.

I personally don't think T-racks will be update soon...if at all.

I still use my Waves bundle that I got way back in 2001, even though it's been updated.

Just use it and love it. I'm sure that you haven't 'mastered' it yet.

Cubase SX, SampleTank 2XL, SonikSynth 2, Miraslav Philharmonik, Amplitude, Real Guitar, A Real Guitar, Guitar Rig, Brain, some sort of limited talent Ver. 22.

I have been predicting an update for a long time now, almost 2 years ago. Every tradeshow comes around the corner and I wonder if IK is releasing T-Racks 2. Maybe they will just replace it with a different product? But I definitely feel that they are not finished with making mastering plugins.

I haven't said that T-RackS sucks. I have made a very good sounding pre master on an Hip Hop instrumental. Everything on it has been mixed and mastered with T-RackS and sounds great. I like the vintage emulation, but I know that IK can improve it.

With your point of view, AmpliTube 2 would never be released cause the first version sounded great in the time it was released.

Squids, it seems you are the person who can comment about an update...

I don't think that IK has any plans for it for a couple years at least, though, because if they did,,, it would have been announced at the last NAMM show,,,

Well, from a certain standpoint, these kind of effects don't need updating. For example, when is the last time Pultec updated their EQ? ;) It's all about the SOUND for these kind of effects and the reason it still sells as well as it does for so many years is because of that. The GUI could be more up to date but IK won't do an update on it just for the GUI. So, if there was an update at some point and I am not saying there will be or not then it would be more than just a GUI. That stands to reason judging by every other IK update (ie. AT1 to AT2, ST1 to ST2 etc.)

I do know more than I am at liberty to say about this. But, when I am in the position to be able to say something more I will for sure. In the meantime, T-Racks currently "does the trick" for a lot of mixing and mastering needs as it is. Anything new would be icing on the cake.

Right on Dave. What's there to improve anyway? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well said.

In the mean time maybe we can trade presets. :D

We could give the KVRAudio Banks/Patches area some more traffic.

Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Sure! Go for it!

Hmmmmm. I have an idea. Maybe we should do a preset round up thing. Like a contest for epointz and then all of the user presets (plus we'll do some too) will be given away to all esoundz members. This could be a fun thing to do for Ampeg, AT2 and CSR as well. What do you think? Any preset makers up for the challenge? ;)

It would be great to have a place we could exchange presets,,, not sure if a contest is the right format, but a place to share would be great!!

My idea would be to have something like, if you contribute 10 presets you could get some epointz, like your the way you do for reviews,,, just a thought... We definately need a place to post presets!!
