what are your audio settings?

Emu ASIO with 4ms latency. Changing the buffer size doesn't help, either.

I have an emu 1212m, which basically uses very similar drivers and do not have these issues. I am sorry all i can contribute is "this doesnt happen to me" comments though

Yeah, grymm. My clock source says "internal" but mine's exactly the same otherwise, except replace M-Audio Delta ASIO with Emu ASIO.

hrm. is your card sample rate locked? does this happen with the VST HQ every single time? and yea unfortunately looptalk is for members only. this is stupid question, but did you read the manual about troubleshooting and such?

i dont know why it would do this to you. try emailing imageline directly i guess?

Yep, yep and yep... well I read what I could find in the help documents. Guess I'll have to either email Image Line or get a new computer.

oh one tweak i did, long ago was set the machine up to give more timeslices to background services (since asio driver is a background service) -- doubt that is the reason though.

actually do you have a OSR like tapeit or voxengo recorder? could you put that inline and see if it still happens with the 8th notes being all whacked out? try recording it that way? assign the hq to a mixer track, and put the OSR on it as an effect and record/playback..?

if it happens then too, atleast we could narrow it down to maybe being disk related?

at this point, my helpfulness is rapidly diminishing, but I am curious about the clock source and sample rate.
I'm assuming you've clicked on the show asio panel.
Perhaps selecting "auto close" might keep it from competeing with other apps trying to use the card.

sorry Ildon. We need to find someone using the same card to really know, I guess.

Thanks. It is great. It made me want to make EDM, though, so maybe it's best I can't use it anymore.

This could be hard disk related, though? My hard drive could be dying?

No problem. I appreciate you guys coming to my rescue. :O But yeah, I tried fiddling around with all that and still nothing happens. The clock source has... "internal," "SPDIF" and "sync." I have no idea what any of that means, but "internal" is default.

well no i dont think your disk is dying. what happens when you adjust your sample buffer length to something less severe -- try say 1024 or 512? you may need to exit flstudio, adjust in your asio control these buffers, then restart flstudio. (i have to do this as my delta wont let anything adjust this value while the asio is open)...

voxengo recorder is free, as is tobybears recorder(prefer that over voxengos) and tapeit 1 is free too i think, or has a demo of tapeit2 (tapeit is the best imo). anyway, try that stuff. i've seen on looptalk threads where gol was telling people 'you expect flstudio to perform with a (3ms 137sample buffer)' (your values or whatever here) ... so it may be worth it to try?

FLStudio problem solved!
