...on render with sound "BassElecFngLng" from the Manystation soundset. Since I don't have access to the original wav file, maybe Paul could check if the problem is there?

Thanks.
No, that wasn't me.

Hi bullshark
I just checked every wave file here in Soundforge and i get 0.00% DC offset. So i don't think it is in the soundset or wavs themselves.

What host are you rendering with? Also what is your chain of Synths and FX or the preset you are using?
Maybe the trouble lies there but as i said the Soundset itself looks to be 100% fine.

Hi Paul,
I've tried with both Reaper and EnergyXT (I made a small project for troobleshooting Reaper for something else), same kind of problem which doesn't show if I use another soundset.
There is no FX chain at all, just straight WS output to master buss, that's what made me think the problem could be in the soundset.
The rendered wav is here: rendered wave(3.5MB) (problem is obvious in the first 2 bars).

3 MIDI loops, 3 instance of WS version 2.2.8 all with straight output to master.

Thanks for checking things out Paul.

Strange ... I can see the DC offset in that file you uploaded, so i just went to Orion and loaded the Bass soundset into a init patch on ManyStation. I then rendered a small wave file and got no DC offset, so all worked fine here on my initial tests. But i do see the offset in the wavefile you uploaded, so something else must be causing this.
I will talk to William about looking into this also. Maybe your hosts render is somehow interfering as i am getting perfect render to wav here.

Hi
Also try what i did in a new project (Load just the soundset into an init patch and see what happens then)

Hy, I'm WilliamK, support guy for the WusikEngine.

What version of Manystation do you have? Check the ABOUT box for the accurated version.

Also, try what Paul just wrote, to insert it into a new blank project and see if the problem still persists.

Best Regards, WilliamK

Hi,

I'm using Wusikstation version 2.2.8.

I tried just loading the soundset in osc 1 of an innit patch, the output is much much better but there is still a very slight DC offset in the output. I could post the result if its of any help.

I then tried loading the MIDI file in a new blank project, output is the same as above.

DC offset is really bad when using the patch called "Bas-DistRock RD", which at first glance didn't seem to have much, if any, modulations going on. But then I noticed it was really making use of Digital Distortion effect. Maybe that could be the culprit?

If you take your copy of ManyMapper and extract the wavefiles from the soundset and then look at them you should see there is 0.00% DC offset.
Maybe just check that there.
But yes FX also could cause this. If you are getting a low percentage reading like 0.01% on a regular render then that is not a problem, My guess is the Distortion FX being digital may add to the factor. We'll look into this too.
Thanks again

Well, I just used an analyzer on the render from the innit file, and DC offset is below 1/10th of a percent, so there is no problem there. Guess I should have done that before instead of eyeballing it

So the problem is really with the patch, my guess is the FX but who knows, and there's nothing wrong with the soundsets and probably nothing wrong with either Reaper or Ext.

Thank's for helping me with this :)

Okay
I tested again with the Distortion FX on and yes it did generate a small amount of DC offset in the resulting rendered wave file. I get a reading of 6.71% DC offset.

But you are correct that the wavs are clean themselves ;-)

Perhaps William can check this.

Ahhh, indeed, the Digital Distortion will add some DC offset.
