I had to unistall FL and reinstall it due to some weird error.
Do I have to unistall my VST's and reinstall them as well?

Or can I just copy and paste my VST folder in FL?

Because I did that and now FL is acting real weird-my CPU usage has spiked and now I'm getting clicks. Any insight?

I just did it last week...I had my vst folder backed up on another hard drive. I had a total hard drive crash on my laptop...I did just copy in the folder but some pluggins needed the serial numbers again....

Well I'm not having to put in serial numbers but FL is messed up.

I upgraded to 6 and then unistalled
and went back to 5 and now it all messed up.
Any ideas?

Yeah weird spikes and clicks. The latency also seems off.

Do you have Sonar/Cakewalk installed too? I had a problem like that yesterday and it turned out that it was a problem with Cakewalk's VST adapter. :X

When I load up a project the CPU is at a constant spike.
Where should your CPU be at with just a loaded project-not playing? It floats between 17 and 27%. I guess I just don't remember it working that hard before.

Weird. People were complaining that CPU load with FL6 was higher, but you're saying you switched back to 5 and it's still acting weird?

Check your audio driver settings (ASIO, WMD) under options -> audio settings? Make sure the latency is set to something like 5ms or above?

I'll ask this again too: do you have Sonar or the Cakewalk VST adapter installed? My CPU meter would hit 100 with only a few plugins loaded and I'd get cackling real quickly because the Cakewalk VST adapter doesn't like FL.

What're your system specs and what plugins are you using?

Oh, and to answer your question, you shouldn't need to reinstall your plugins if you uninstall and reinstall a host. I've never had to do that with any host. If you do need to reinstall them... then reinstall them. Should be no big deal.

Plugins that come as Dll's and some clean installing plugins like Pohsifopit will work fine. A few plugins that come with installers will need to be re-executed for good installation. Some plugins, like Microtera work with just a copied dll, but then the presets are gone. Others, like Rhino need a complete and fresh reinstallatio to work at all. It really depends on the plugin....

If I uninstall a host & reinstall it, what do I do w/ VSTs?
