Hi,

We're pleased to announce CamelCrusher - rather a nifty free distortion/compressor/filter that borrows some features from its big brother CamelPhat. This is replacing CamelPhatFree and can do everything it could do and quite a bit more. Head over here for more info:

As usual, we'd really welcome comments and questions.

Camel Audio are pleased to announce CamelCrusher - a new free VST and Audio Unit plugin. CamelCrusher is a versatile 'colouring' multi-effect that borrows some features from its big brother CamelPhat. It offers two different distortion algorithms which can be blended together to create a wide variety of tones and textures. Great for guitars, drums and plenty more!

There's also a warm, smooth analogue-style low-pass filter, with buckets of resonance. Assign a MIDI controller and start tweaking. Finally, let's not forget the easiest-to-use compressor you'll find anywhere. It can 'phatten' up your sound as quickly as you can turn up the 'Amount' knob!

- Two different distortion types.
- Warm, analogue-modelled resonant low-pass filter.
- High quality, easy-to-use compressor, with 'Phat' mode.
- Powerful 'MIDI Learn' function.
- A collection of useful Preset patches to get you started.
- Randomize for instant inspiration
- Available as a Universal Binary for Mac

 Great stuff!! I'm on the verge of buying phatSpace, and this gives me something to play with during the weekend without internet.. Is this the same tech used in the full camelPhat? If this is good, my money is soon to be yours. :D

It features some of the same algorithms that are used in CamelPhat, but with far fewer features. Sometimes its handy to have a plugin that just takes up a small amount of space and just does a few things well though. As usual, I recommend checking out the demos, as well as downloading this plugin. If you have any more questions, ask away.

Ben, I appreciate this very much ! It looks also great. Good concept too; distortion on it's own alone is quiet "useless" !

Max... .. . :P

Its pretty similar but with a few changes, including:
- different interface
- different presets
- available as Universal Binary
- optimized graphics
- other minor bug fixes and optimizations
Thanx for both the plug and the donation policy...
You're welcome :)

 Fortunately not! I hadn't thought about it before, but CamelCrusher does sound like rather a cruel device.

It would depend on what part of the camel you were crushing...

Thanks for the great plugin!

I do not really think this one has less bugs than CMfuzz as a matter of fact... this one seems to be not letting me use ANY of its controls... also the GUI is not as ugly with CMfuzz oh yeah and CMfuzz works!
