AA is adobe audtion...it really has no midi, not for sequencing at all...but as an audio editor and multi-tracker it is awesome...and yes FL and AA are a very good combination...I have been using them together a couple years now and love them both...a perfect marriage of software imo :)

yea, I've been using AA ever since it was "cool edit pro" , back before adobe bought it out.

I'm just not too impressed with what adobe did with the program that makes it so slow, I'm running on a 1.5 ghz machine so it's pretty noticeable on my end (grr at cheap un-upgradable motherboards!)
For serious? The first thing I noticed about the adobe version was how much faster it is
Another issue that i'm not so happy with in FL is the fact that when I want to mix down a song to wav files for mixing and mastering in audition, I have to manually go through and do it, I wish they had a feature that would simply mix down each pattern line to separate wav files for use in other mastering programs...I guess i'll have to go through the pain : /
You know you can render all the mixer channels to seperate audio, right?

I restarted my pc just for this test

AA: 22 seconds
FL: 46 seconds (but that's with my template that has Vsampler with muli samples and DFHs in the the template I use)
Sonar5: 1 minute and 5 seonds (but I had a new pluggin for it to scan...I would estimate 30-45 seconds is typical)

So how does it take to an hour to load? I think t-willy should run a patience clinic, clearly that man knows patience...

I don't understand this. My P4-3.0GHZ starts up AA 1.5 with an empty project in just under two seconds.

A project with a 4MB wav file in it, not different enough to be within my ability to measure with my stopwatch.
FL: 46 seconds (but that's with my template that has Vsampler with muli samples and DFHs in the the template I use)
Same machine, FLS with my default template (1 instance of Wusik, and a mixer setup for audio with some various channel fx), a little under 5 seconds.

My machine isn't that fast, what am I doing right?

I switched from FL Studio to Project5 and I am happy so I recommend that.

My AA opens in less than a second and my compy isnt that fast. Is there a way to time it exactly?

the thing about FL taking 44 seconds to load is crap because its not just FL, its the vstis used in the template ;)

but yeah, i dont know how you guys get it to load so quick...

uhm, that's exactly what I said and why I put in () about my template...with no templates it opens in a flash, so it's not a load of crap as you put it. But then if I open vsampler, load my preset for it (which is what takes a long time, then open DFHs it takes far longer....then I have to label my tracks in the mixer and give them a color, assign mixer tracks in the channel settings window for my two pluggins. So by the time I'm done it takes over 5 minutes (I have to label 13 tracks)...I'll take the 22 seconds :hihi:

Just so you know Jason, back in the analog days I had to clean the heads, degauss the heads, load a tape, set the board and patch effects just to start. You may not know this but backing the day it was taught in schools and a good idea to normal the board (set it to default) at the end of each session. We worked with track sheets that had to be accurate and the process was much slower...so what you see as a PITA, I see as an improvement

Would like mind giving a reason why you recomend that?

You guys start up FL with a standard template every time? No wonder it gets so much slander for only being capable of "one type of music"! :hihi:

I start with a pretty much blank template. It takes less than a second to load that way too.
