VST Host performance change problem.

I am using VST Host (v 1.4) for live performance. This is with a small church praise band. I am using a cheap yamaha keyboard (PSR-172). I have to make do with what we already have. I am trying to use the remote control function of VST Host to control the performaces of VST Host. The problem is that this keyboard doesn't send out the program change command until you hit the next note. VST Host waits until the performace is loaded & then sends the note. I was hoping I could scoot by because it would take to long for the performance to load & the note wouldn't be played but that's not the case. The keyboard doesnt output any other type of midi commands besides pc & notes, that I know of. If anyone has an idea of how to make this change hapen w/out getting an extra note to be played I would greatly apprecaite it.
