I start with my template every time in FL, too.

My template is there's a limiter across the master bus.

FL takes a wildly variable amount of time to load on my 1.8 Ghz Sempron.

Yea, FL on its own is a quick loading program, but if you use templates that have VSTi's loaded, then its going to cause the slow load-time.

Although, my current usual template includes about 30-40 vsti's that it loads at once, and it usually only takes about 15 seconds max, and I'm running on a pretty slow machine so it could be spyware or other background programs that are affecting the load time of FL.

reread my post and see why...I'm going to use DFHs no matter what style of music I'm going to write, if I don't it's easier to delete the channel than open it most of the time

...though granted I don't see some genres being written in my immediate future...but I think most genres are well represented in the world of FL...

ACtually that's completely logical, because if the standard template was set a certain way your tracks would vary less as an end result.

Not really. Just regular load time plus the time it would take to load typical project.

EDIT - whoops just read the rest of that post

FL's great and all...
