I was gone fishing (no kidding
I was sitting in a boat on a swedish lake for hours and hours so the wifi connection was not the best) I never had plans to add mp3 import, but I don't mind considering it. If I find a good, free, cross platform mp3 import library I can use, it should be quite simple. I'll post news about it in this thread, but other features are highter on my list at the moment.

I wouldn't recommend loading a full 5 minute song in LiveSlice anyways, since everything is loaded in RAM.Lagrange wrote:Stale: If you really need the function of LiveSlice Y not just convert mp3's you wanna use? Or lets say you wanted to use LS in a live situation use a VST MP3 player and route it into LS??
That said, if you are on a laptop with limited disk space, it could be useful to keep loops in mp3 format to increase the capacity. Also when I implement more traditional slicer features like slice export, loop cropping etc., LiveSlice becomes more of a standalone tool, and would benefit from more import formats.
But as I said - it's low on my list.

Lagrange i'm just lookin to stream line things as much as possible, right now the best option is to run from a track in ableton out into liveslice since ableton reads mp3s but it would be a little of alotta bit better if that step could be erased. mp3s have become as valuable as my vinyL these days so i got uses for'em, , by the way, what's up with that crate diggers radio in your sig
