i want to start building my own skin, but how do i get right dimensions for my objects like win_group_background? and what format i should use for pics?

Dump the bitmaps from the default skin (options, skin, DUMP BMP'S) and import them in your graphics app.
eXT works with .bmp files.

also ... be aware you can copy from your graphics app and paste into the eXT skin editor ...
(took me ages of edit > save > load procedures before i sussed this)

Yeah pHz only when you work with bmps... with all the adverse side effects that method causes

hey, as far as i know you can't have transparency with bitmaps, but i still can see that some themes have transparency on 2 different background, somebody throw some light here !!!

no transparency ... but for each bitmap you CAN set a single colour to appear transparent ... right-click your bitmap in the skin editor and select alpha colour ...
... only use when ABSOLUTELY necessary though or .jon will tear you a new jagged aliased arsehole ...

He's right. Watching aliased and jagged images for extended periods can cause anusognorrea.

Well, I got an eSnips account and have a place to put some stuff. Here's a slightly modified version of the FLStudio 2 skin. I was thoroughly impressed by this skin, but I personally wanted a few alterations. I put this up in case anyone else might want it. There's a screenshot available through link.
