I was wondering if there are effects that are of the same quality of the Waves Diamond Bundle?

The Diamond Bundle is the most expensive group of effects I have ever seen. What is the reason for the high price?

20 plug ins for $3800 is less than $200 a plug.... plus waves seem to like charging a bit of a premium for the brand... that's expensive but its not the most expensive out there.

Waves diamond is one of the most complete bundles out here when you look at all the different types of plugins it offers, but it is'nt necessarily the best sounding (this part is subjective), I like the sound of Voxengos better and their cheaper, the voxengo collection would be my first choice, then UAD-1 collection, then wave arts. Each of these collection is'nt as complete of a bundle as waves and may not offer things like doppler, enigma etc but as for compressors, reverbs, eq's etc they sound better then waves to me. This is personal preference of course, so you need to demo until your heart is content to see if anything is better then waves to you.

Waves site says 40 plugs...not 20 as mentioned earlier. So, for $2800 that comes out to less than $80 a plug - and yes, there is some overlapping but not much. Yes, WUP can be expensive at that price but for a full blown pro studio it is worth it to many a studio.

If all you are doing is just pop or rock music then a UAD card will be great but...but...if you are expected to please a variety of clients from music, commercials, to small movies or videos then the Diamond Bundle will be invaluable because of the sound munipulating possibilities that are available.

By the way the Native Power Pak is going for just $300 - 10 plugs comes out to $30 a plug for some proven and useable plugs. If there is a better buy right now I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Add the Musicians Bundle II and you are set with a great set of plugs.

My opinion of course.

I like Waves but recognize there are other great plugs out but the Native Power at $300 which now includes Doubler, IR-L, and RAxx is pretty good for Waves.

Plugin choice is COMPLETELY subjective.

I was looking at stereo control plugins and came across the Waves S1 Imager. So I stuck it in a channel and placed a stereo phase meter after it (Gonio 3) to see exactly what it does against a 1 osc sine wave tone given a small stereo phase offset (on a stereo phase meter you get a single circle/oval depending on the amount of offset. It's a great way to SEE what your stereo plugins are actually doing... easiest with the 3x Osc). Great plugin, but costs the odd $200 or so.

I did the same test with Buzzmachine's Rymix Stereobox Pro. This plugin positively WWWWWWWHOMPED! on the S1 Imager. It allows for controlling stereo in a way I can only describe as complete. Its insanely more configurable: comes with 2 assignable LFO's, it's own pseudo stereo funkybits, mid/side options galore,a filter, and mostly as kind on CPU... I was so glad that FL has a Buzz adapter when I found this plugin.
I wrote of wantnig the S1 Imager or any other plugin of it's kind thatnks to Buzz. FL'ers would do good not to ignore this little bit that comes in the FL installation.

Compared to the quantity it's really a gem....and the quality....there was a demo/try....who can try out this monster within a month.....seems to be of high quality too....but who needs all these plugs....and 3500€....only some rich pop-stars or professional studios can afford it. Are you rich?

Fine - then go for the Narive Power Pack Specil for $300 and get 10 great plugs - Waves can be for the small guy also.

Can anybody show me where one can get 10 good plugs for $30 a piece?

Db-audioware's Quantum fx 2 comes with 50 plugins for $299 and the ability to create unlimited effects. Sorry, but i could'nt help myself in trying to top you

Of course the Native power pack is a very affordable bundle but if one search there are cheaper solutions (all the way down to freeware), so in essence it boils down to "is this great quality for the money i can afford to spend".
I found Quantum fx to be a great bang for the buck, then there's the Izotope Ozone and spectron both together have many features (more then ten plugins worth i'm sure), and if you buy them together they can be bought probably for about $250. A short while ago Ozone, spectron, and Trash where sold for only $300, and together they add up to way more then 10 plugins when you look at all that each can do, plus izotope will give you vinyle for free

That is fine - I have no problem with you or anybody else seeking to top the deal...go for it - Your idea was a good one.

I understand and was not throwing a challenge or "waving" the banner for Waves - If there is something out there better then hopefully someone may need it and your suggestion will be a blessing. At $375 the Power Pack may not be so great but at $300 it may be worth looking at for someone. Waves is not for everybody that's for sure.

Waves should make a bundle consisting of their new SSL EQ/IR-1/Rencomp/and noise reduction. The rest they can keep. For basic EQ/Comp, I'd take URS/Sonalksis/Voxengo over their basic bundles any day, the rest(delay's etc.} you can match with freeware.

I agree, except I have to add that they have some invaluable modualtion stuff: Their doubler is light years beyond anything else available and Enigma & MondoMod are very cool plugins; not to mention Doppler and the Soundshifter stuff. LinMB is marvelous and hard to replace too.

Too bad about the dongle/iLok/pay-to-play crap....

Better yet - can anyone show me where the Native Power Pack is on for $300? I see $400 at the Waves store.
