Hope someone can point me in the right direction: what I'm looking for is a VSTi style host (meaning that I can load it into Cubase) that can host other VSTi's/VST's and create a kind of chain of instruments and effects which I can save and load in different projects. A kind of NI Kore, but cheaper and without the hardware. From what I found and tested, chainer is such a thing - unfortunately its website dates from years back which tbh. doesn't inspire confidence from my part. Are there alternatives?

Phrazor is one like it

or energyXT,

both are much cheaper and very handy

but also chainer is very good,
and the demo is fully fuctional, except you cant load what you saved,

So I would try these three.

Acon Digital Media's "Effectchainer" but it's not a standalone. Maybe run it in Seib's SAVIHost for standalone? Otherwise it's a VST-VSTi-DX-DXi chainer and it's free in beta.

energy XT seems like the obvious answer. Lightweight if you keep it that way, heavyweight if you want it to be.

Thanks very much for the quick replies! I saw them but skipped them as I thought they'd be too complex for the task I envisioned. I gave them both a quick spin though and I'm amazed. Especially of EnergyXT.

Vaz 2010 can du exactly what you want, and you get one of the best VA synths at the same time !
