Sorru, mello, I didn't have anything to contribute this month. I look forward to downloading the big piles this month as the theme is one of my main interests in music being a giant fan of Zorn and Bungle and Patton and all. I just happened to be working on a glitch polka that you heard for my new band but it's a giant project. It's not like it's unusual for me to morph genres. Only a dy or so and I should be able to send in my votes though. At least 1/2 will not be trance this month!

What I've heard from your polka was just great!

Mix perfect, melody wonderful: verse-chorus and a quite good ending....It's Parsons...Al?... no! Duncan! My N°1 this month.
Frankly, I'm astonished! Not only this, but I get a PM from Georg (Klemperer) congratulating me as well...

I'm glad you like it, I've had the idea kicking around for ages, but never actually done it. It's the most simple arrangement I could do in the time - I would have put phasing on the contrapuntal bit, but didn't have time. Still - Entia non sunt multiplicandia, eh?

Th'vox are modelled on Monks who've had a wee dram or two..

Anyway, thx for the kind words :)

Next month, I'm taking your advice...start with acoustic, add vocals, then get fancy...but above all, spend more time on production and getting it right, as opposed to one-third of the way there...

this is quite crazy and I like that, the voice it scary
more metel than rastas, the choir is sweet it should start earlier
Thanks Liqih!! :D
Yeah, the vocals seem to be not that friendly, got some feedback concerning those.
What I wanted to do with them: Try to sound like some badass toaster (Buku Banton? :hihi: ),
have to confess that I'm not very informed of nowadays reggaesters, but for sure some of them doing very weird stuff. So, modern rastas!! :help:
The whole thing was cut very short not to bore, maybe will extend and change the vocals...

Genovese_Syndrome: Quite good song: atmospheric, well structured, enigmatic feel. Complaints: needs a better mastering, the drum(s)(-machine) are not always well adjusted and a fade-out would have been better than a scissors' cut.
Good review, mello! I second that, it's a beautiful comp, the drums come in a little bit cheap for me.
Liqih: Perfect folk-song, well played, well instrumented, well structured and a fine melody-line. Another mountain-gem from the insects-modeling-kitchen-dancer!
I love it and it's charming simplicity! This will get a high vote by me :)

Papatomany: Here comes...the reggae?....a tango?....allinone...very good bass/drum/percussion-works and Madame Viola...voilà....also a breathing mix...Alex, would you do 'The Waits' again for this elegantly quirky (in a good sense) wedding-gem?
Wow, Alex' voice to that? Yeah, that would be coool! I get your idea :)

Mello, you are a top reviewer, very good work for the whole this month's contest! :D
But, errhh: Funxi - you did also veery entertaining reviews..!!! 8)
And : SHUSH was also very honest and concise in his judgements :-o

Cheers and hail to you review kings :D

Finally had a chance to DL and listen to tracks. Jeez, I should have put more work into mine!!! But I was out of town for a couple of the weeks, so it had to live as it is. I probably should have told what I thought my genre hybrid was:

Reggae + TV Show Theme + Bono Political Speech (but mostly just Reggae)

Sorry no time to do reviews this month.

p.s. Liqih aka luisi, your last month's insects' ballet was the perfect soundtrack for the cockroaches' dance-contests in our home's kitchen and terrace.
