Any Acid-heads around? Question about direct monitoring.

A friend was saying he could record his guitar with vst effects, but that he could'nt hear them in real time, only after the recording was done. I can hear my effects in real time while recording in Sonar. Acid ought to be able to do the same thing, right? The latest review I saw, the writer was impressed what a complete package Acid is now. Is my friend just not doing it right somehow?

ACID Pro 6 now has "Input Monitoring". Provided you have low latency ASIO drivers, you should have no problem monitoring with FX. I've used Trash before, with ACID Pro 6a @ 128 samples (2ms latency), in realtime, without any problelms. No different than other audio host apps I've used (like SONAR 5.2) that have input monitoring. I suspect your friend is either not doing it correctly or he is not using ASIO drivers @ low latency.

Billy is correct. ACID can input monitor through FX but only if configured to use ASIO drivers. (The latency/sync issues with the Mapper or Wave drivers don't permit reasonable input monitoring.)
