according to the website it'll be in 1.5 .. my guess is the version will be available after the summer as ohm seems to enjoy the sun these days and who can blame him for that

Confirmed - I can't really code in the summer unless it pays really really well or I risk getting fired, none of those conditions apply to the livelab.dk project so I haven't looked at Liveslice for the past month or so. Development will continue soon though so don't worry

...how will LiveSlice handle Rex specifications like muted slices and stretched slices? There seems to be something special about it - Kontakt 2, for instance, still doesn't handle them correctly (but I hope it will soon). Will LiveSlice also support 24 bit Rex-files?

I haven't looked at the SDK yet so I can't give you a final answer. It worries me a bit that Kontakt 2 has problems - could be that the specs are a bit incomplete - then I just have to rely on the feedback of the rx2 experiences of you guys to get it done. My guess is the initial rx2 support will have some holes - but that's just a guess.
I personally hate software that claims to support a format and then ignores half the info, so in the long run I'm aiming for 100% compatibility.

Ooooh - you're going for rx2? Excellent!
It might be a while away, but I'm looking forward to it.

It is very reassuring to me, and the entire lazy community, that no excess sweat or effort are put into this product. Hadn't I already owned Liveslice, I'd buy it in a second.ohm wrote:Confirmed - I can't really code in the summer unless it pays really really well or I risk getting fired, none of those conditions apply to the livelab.dk project so I haven't looked at Liveslice for the past month or so. ...don't worry, really! I suppose, this isn't because of the Rex-Format being to complex/difficult to implement but because of Kontakt having too many features. Someone has been very enthusiastic in inventing new features, but forgot to look after the careful development of these. It could be that at first the import of Rex-Files had been good enough for them as long as Kontakt would just read the slice information and the audio-data. Since Kontakt 2 has so many things to be fixed, I suppose, they considered this bugfix as of minor importance (WHICH IT IS NOT!!!ohm wrote:I haven't looked at the SDK yet so I can't give you a final answer. thanks loachm - but I'll receive format specs from the props themselves before long - need to sign a big and bad NDA first to promise I never implement rx2 export (that's recycle only I'm afraid).
I'm sure there'll be support for muted slices and the works.

...this format is so simple yet very effective - I would also protect it with all I have. I already have Recycle, so no problem for me...ohm wrote:need to sign a big and bad NDA first to promise I never implement rx2 export (that's recycle only I'm afraid).

Lucky the limitation is on the export because I'm MUCH more interested in the import in this particular instance.
