He's being an idiot. PSP did a couple of plugins based on Lexicon delays, nothing to do with this.aallvor wrote:Whaddabout Psp?snooky wrote:PSP anyone?

I think he was trying to say that PSP already did something like this. So um.. kinda does have a little to with this.

Oh yeah, I know. And they're pretty good as well. I wonder how detailed control you'll have over the sound with the 'Lexicon', hope it's more than Deverb.

well apart from a similar hardware panel coloring, a delay (those PSP gadgets) and a reverb (this new one) are still quite the different thing, even if the latter is sometimes built using nested and filtered networks of the former.Amberience wrote:I think he was trying to say that PSP already did something like this. PSP 84:
Features:
* High quality, unique signal processing algorithms,
* Up to 10 seconds of delay time per channel (depending on internal sampling frequency),
* Continuous control over the delay time with little harmonic distortion,
* Cross-channel feedback and independent channel settings with channel link mode,
* Tape saturation simulation with adjustable gain based on the algorithm used in the line of our mastering processors,
* Modulation section consisting of LFO and envelope follower mixed in any proportions,
* 5 click-free LFO waveforms and variable LFO channel phase offset,
* LP, BP, HP filter with adjustable cutoff and resonance,
* Flexible filter routing capabilities,
* Vintage reverberation module for faithful simulation of spring and plate reverb characteristics,
* Parameter filtration for smooth and click-free operation,
* Support for sampling rates of up to 192kHz,
* MIDI and VST automation of all parameters,
* Logic Control support,
* Pentium IV optimization,
* 60 presets for easy start.
soo...a "lexi reverb" model no?

Take a look at the teaser picture on their front page. Just to show off on Chris's behalf, it's a 3D render and not a photo.

And to snooky, the reverb on the 84 wouldn't be the same as the reverb on the Lexi 200. For one, the 84 isn't actually modelled on any Lexi hardware, it is based on another delay plugin that was modelled after a Lexi delay (the PCM42). The reverb in the 84 probably has more to do with the PSP Easyverb than anything else.

thing is - with audiodamage it's so much on interpretetation - none of their other "emulations" have sounded much like the original hardware, so why would this sound as vintage as the original?
