There is a node called On Key which makes forces all events into the selected scale (or a custom one). This can be applied in the song window, i.e. it can't currently be built-in as part of a tool. There are reasons for doing both, so which one is less of a limitation is more a matter of how you work.

But the line tool in general is not particularly useful for note events right now. We use it solely to generate controller data (and pitch data, too, should be fine I think).

If you're popping up a menu in a location that has MIDI nodes on either side, you'll get a menu of MIDI nodes, like what dan described. If you're getting a list of VSTs, then either you're selecting the menu on a track that already has audio output, which would force the list into being nodes that produce audio

yes, that was the case as I already mentioned - but I think this context-sensitivity either isn't working properly yet or I am still misunderstanding - let me explain:

say I want to send the 'Echo' to a vsti which is already routed to an audio-output - as it is now I first have to route the track to a midi out, then load the 'Echo' and then finally switch back to the audio-output.

As the track can't know what I'm trying to do/achieve the conetxt sensitivity as it is now doesn't seem to make much sense to me... :?

This of course has got nothing to do with splitting up/duplicating audio-streams. Now my wild guess is that Sequitur has both midi- and audio-'Echo' and so far I've only been stumbling upon the midi-'Echo' - right?
Hey jens I think you get everything there was just a miscommunication -- there is only one Echo node, it is a MIDI effect, dan was just describing routing the output of the echo MIDI node into the inputs of several VSTi nodes, so you just have a couple VSTis playing in unison.

As I've now posted, there are only 2 audio nodes included, Audio Mixer and Audio Recorder. Everything else is either housekeeping (the audio inputs and outputs) or accidentally included (Dan Audio).

I see - I think I have to read that page of the thread once again... :-)

I was just playing with this, and I think there is a bug -- if you have a VSTi consuming midi events right off of the track, then there is no way to insert other MIDI filters before it (there is no place to right-click to get a pop-up menu of MIDI filters to insert). I think there are a few other things we can do to clean up which options you see where to improve the situation.

To work around some of this for now, you can add a blank MIDI track, create your MIDI filter there, and then drag it up to your VST track in front of the VST node. That should move it into the proper place.

yes, or you could do it the way I described... :P :hihi:

Couldn't run this at all. Apparently I'm missing a .dll.
Could be the whole SP2 requirement. Can't remember these days what SP I have on Windows.

But - no rush. This looks like it's just started.
Will look at it again at a later time when I have my operating system sorted. :)

Could you tell what .dll is missing? It would be nice to fix this, especially if it is easy!

I'd recommend that your menu be structured to reflect the user's directory hierarchy for their VST plugin folder. That means they can use the file system to organise plugins the way they want to, and you don't have to add any features to support organising plugins. I know that's exactly the way I'd like all my other hosts to behave, and so far none of them do.

Oh, crap. Does this mean this only runs on XP? I was going to try it on my Win2K box.

Because it is red?
Yeah, I think you're right. I'd be pretty pissed too.

yes, indeed - that's what I meant when I wrote:

The routing is a work of genius! :o  :-D :hail:

Post

but as it is now it takes to much space away from the phrases area - it should be possible to collapse/expand the output-fx area with once click/shortcut... :-)

Post

midi-connections should have a different colour thatn audio-connections (in the output-fx-area)

Why don't you simply make the audio-connections green and the midi-connections purple? :-)

also I miss standard ui-behaviour - things like mouse-wheel for scrolling and zooming and crtl+drag for copying...

Who else just cannot get this thing to run? I wonder if its the ASIO drivers I'm trying to use. Any known issue with EMU drivers? The thing scans my VST's and then just never appears. It shows running in the background along with the temp file it must create while scanning for VST's. But that's it.
